To many things need to be solve, China threat , declining birth, LBGT rights and also new Capitalism. Now abduction?

Of course he won’t! He’s just moving his mouth, making all the right shapes to appeal to interest groups.

Yes, the daily dose of hope for those affected families, that’s understood. But in fact the time windows are closing, for the family members and especially too in this new era of cold war and more stringent bipolarity. To be honest it’s completely unrealistic and there’s no chance on this topic as already before under better political weather conditions no chances have been.

Aah, of course, just in time for the election.

LDP boys really like their pledges.

"Kishida pledges to take every step to resolve N Korea abduction issue" (AKA we will demand the return of our citizens and wait to see what NK does.)

The LDP playbook strikes again. When they do not have any real platform, resort to the oldies but goodies. They need to get those senior citizens and rural communities to come out and vote for these despicable human beings!

Fumio Kishida pledged Wednesday that his government will take every possible measure to pursue the return of all of its citizens

does it include all dead people killed by japanese?

More talk, no results.

Has this guy accomplished anything positive for the people yet?

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

his talk is cheap.

This was Abe Senpai's path to relevance in the LDP leadership. Kishida is obligated to keep banging this gong. It's a sad situation but recovery (alive or dead) of all the kidnapped Japanese from decades ago through negotiation with the Kim Dynasty is bound to fail.

Of course he won’t! He’s just moving his mouth, making all the right shapes to appeal to interest groups.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida pledged Wednesday that his government will take every possible measure

But he does not say what these "possible measures" are. Hot air.

Must be election time again.

Same platitudes every election.

Enough venerable elders swallow them like New Year mochi to keep voting back into power the party which has failed at everything it has pledged to do for 30 years.

Rinse and repeat.

Tedious and predictable as this routine is, it clearly works.

Ha! That picture tells exactly what Kishida really thinks about the matter at hand.

Haha. Kishida! Joke.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

Well thank you Mr K. I can now rest easy that everything will be fine tomorrow.

What can he do? He has the western-induced mindset that if you make the same demands and empty threats for long enough, that you will get your way. Even with a country as heavily-armed as North Korea. If you want to reach them, give up on the notion that they will bend to your will. Cause clearly that's not going to happen.

Kishida pledges to take every step to resolve N Korea abduction issue

The only thing left to resolve, is Japan closing the files. There are no abductees left to return to Japan. It's done, over, finished. Bringing it up over and over again does nothing for anyone. It is time for Japan to make a monument to those people and move on. There is nothing to be gained by flogging a dead horse.

We've seen similar language over the years and literally nothing has been accomplished, just like the islands-Russia issue.
