Japan's opposition to any actor using force to unilaterally change the status quo

certainly flogging that line lately...... getting the big boys onside in case China decides to nudge a bit harder? I'm sure they'll all come rushing to support Japan if that scenario materializes..... (^_-)

Why is Italy still in the G7?

It economy is in tatters.

Russia invades Ukraine kills tens of thousands of civilians, destroys whole cities, kidnaps tens of thousands of Ukrainian citizens, including children, and send them across the international border to Russia = bad

China sends some boats to the international waters surrounding some tiny islands in the East China Sea under dispute = somehow equally bad

"Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth," as a well-known propagandist once said. The "status quo" that the likes of Kishida endlessly push is of course the American domination of the worlds financial systems through military force.

I always wonder if these politicians actually understand what they're saying when they parrot phrases like "rules-based order" or "free and open Pacific".

The world is polarized now between Democracies on one side and Autocracies on the other. We are watching what an Autocracy can do to another country, killing innocent civilians in a quest to unilaterally change the status quo by force. China has openly sided with Russia, the aggressor. They themselves continue to threaten to invade Taiwan. This is a global issue and Japan has chosen to be on the right side of history.

Kishida is in every world meeting where military is required but does not care about any social reform to improve life of it’s people.

This small Japanese rightist elite cares only about the “prestige” of their country with weapons and influence but little about the vast majority of it’s own population.

Not much changed in Japan’s political class from the Edo era.

Pressing a case for coordinated action to punish Russia

Japan is asking for trouble with Russia !

Bad idea

Japan has chosen to be on the right side of history

So far historically Japan hasn't made any wise choices.

And it's not looking any better recently.

He does know? that NATO destroyed Africa’s most successful country, Libya. (Now has an open, active slave market and thriving people smuggling industry.) murdered Serbian civilians, illegally invaded Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, killing at a conservative estimate 600,000 citizens. Sends weapons to the most corrupt country in Europe and 123 in the World that can shoot down civilian airplanes if smuggled to Albania or Modovia or other countries in a car boot.

the G7 is under the control of US foreign policy and membership of WEF. The G7 will now attack BRIKS

japan should stay in the background. We were nuked by USA, so that should be a lesson.

Yeah... but you see those countries were in dire need of some " freedom" ...and all the tens of thousands civilian deaths by western bombs & missiles were unfortunate collateral damage incidents, completely different from the evil Russians. Downvotes away.

The "aggressor"??!! That's a good one. The american empire has over 1000 military bases around the world. 23 just in its colony, Japan. The imperial military is murdering civilians on a daily basis. But yeah, China is an aggressor...

Russia... meh. They suck too, but were backed into a corner by america playing its pawn, Ukraine.

No matter how you look at it though, there is no one worse than america. "Right side of history" my arse. Japan has joined the fascists just like they did 80 years ago.

Blah blah Russian propaganda and lies. Yawn... Who do you think believes that rubbish? You should be posting that on Chinese and Russian websites because most people here know its crap. Sure the pro Russia/China posters will all line up to agree with you, but they are anti West/US/NATO/Japan or anyone that speaks out against autocrats.

NATO destroyed Libya? OMG how big a lie do you wish to tell?

Of course Japan being free and democratic will not side with Russia or China. That will not change. Good for Japan and good for the world.
