Netanhayu is a prime minister not a president.....altho I do not really understand the difference.

The prime minister is the power player and leader of the government. The president is the head of state. Like in Germany.

And there it is.

He just got called out for blatant miscalculated funds, and off he goes.

UAE will sell oil and gas in side meetings, and Israel will justify "one state solution". Alas, are we going to see the most disastrous international gathering?

Better to ignore and isolate Israel the murdering state until a new Government is elected.

THIS!!! Excellent post Mick!

 a conflict they don't understand

This links into a big myth because it is not a complex situation to begin with. Japanese diplomats who deal with the Middle East will understand it. Individual elected politicians may not, some of them may be clueless, but they have little say in formulating policy.

This in no way means that Japan will want to do the right thing, because Japan has allies to appease.

Surely better to stay out of a conflict they don't understand than peddle falsehoods.

He has his work cut out for him.

They arent meeting in Israel. They are meeting at a climate conference, which has already been revealed as just a cover for various fossil fuel deals

We need them, so if he can get a great deal on fossil fuels more power to him, finally the guy would be doing something useful

Why visit Israel if he's interested in peace and securing oil?

I envy this guy very much, he has weekly holiday travels. Who has such a fancy job as a nation's leader like you?

Why visit Israel if he's interested in peace and securing oil? He should be visiting Qatar to lend support.

"So, we hear you may have some new gas resourses off the coast of Gaza..."

Kishida takes two large jetliners to a conference on climate change?

Is he for real?

ask Herzog to work on easing tensions surrounding the Palestinian enclave Gaza, ruled by Hamas, demonstrating Japan's desire for the situation in the Middle East to improve.

Wow. Bold leadership.

Japan become peace negotiator? So far Qatar really done all the work.

While Japan just want a good PR for this.
