Japan has always had great relations with Iran through history. They have never been to war with each other. Japan does not have intolerance of Islam, like USA and many Western nations. Therefore, resource poor Japan should be given the exception to trade with Iran. Iran has never threatened to us missiiles on Japan, unlike North Korea. Very different situation.

Iran and Japan have very good relations. Behind the scenes what was discussed is not for public consumption. However, Iran has made it very clear.......if the Hormuz is open for you, then the Suez and Gibraltar can't be closed for Iran. Any teenage insolence or manchild drama from Trump, and Iran escalates this!

Iran had purchased equipment from the US in the late 1970s, but the US never delivered on it ... and Obama was treasonous to give it back. Like its their right to steal and not deliver.

The US brought about the seizing of somewhere between $50 billion and $150 billion worth of Iranian perfectly legal assets all around the world ... but it's all Iran's fault.

If I was being harrassed by two aggressive, unstable nuclear powers with track records of expansionism, political interference, treaty breaking and stealing my money and resources (as the US has done to Iran) - *and I believed in the idiocy of war and supporting war machines** - I think I'd want to be able to protect myself.

There was a deal between two parties. One party (the U.S.) decided to end this deal, it makes another party (Iran) absolutely free of legal obligations to abide by this agreement. I'm really disgusted by Japan's servility that Kono demonstrated again.
