Tantrum

13 ( +13 / -0 )

I bet his meeting with Putin had something to do with it .

12 ( +15 / -3 )

I think the picture perfectly represents my thoughts on this. No one cares. North Korea has always loved attention. I learned that a long time ago.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

North Korea has no plans to give up their Nukes...

E V E R !!!

They have no reason to...

Even if the USA did!

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Was probably some old shells they had laying around.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Probably long rang but fizzled out, new tantrum

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Some fireworks launched to celebrate ‘Reiwa’ is all.....

As any rational person realised a long time ago, the north has no intention of giving up their nuclear weapons and it wouldn’t serve fat boys political need. His priority is staying alive which requires the survival of his regime and their grip over the masses who would eat him alive (probably literally given how starved they are) if they ever realised the truth rather than the lies fed to them via state propaganda.

Appeasement of the north does not serve the rest of the world at all, it merely rewards bad behaviour and encourages continuation along the same path.

Sorry sensei258 & ganbare japan but NK simply doesn’t care about Japan to waste a missile on subtle messages or Abe’s summit which will be on their terms or not at all.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Donnie's Master Vlad, hosts the Dear Leader, and suddenly after 15 months we get IRBMs going off. Wonder why nK ICBM technology seemed to triple over a one year period?

Look around the globe and you'll find Putin's hand trying to undermine US interests; the Middle East, Ukraine Venezuela, Cuba, now Korea. And then we have that "sweeping and systematic" influence campaign during our election in 2015/16.

Yet our President has a nice, friendly chat with him today.

Putin leads Donnie around like a dog on a leash...

A poodle....

This photo says that if NK fired missiles towards Japan, a good percentage of Japanese would never notice. The last thing they would see is whatever is on their handhelds.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Just face the music. NK will keep their nuclear weapons. しようがない

Kim needs a few lessons from Putin in how to "manage" Trump, Putin is like an expert puppeteer who knows which string to pull and when.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

So, Trump shouldn't talk to Putin, right? Good thing you're not in charge, lincoln.

You're right, he should.

At least Trump met and talked with the North Korean leader - twice.

You might be right again. Unfortunately Trump's reputation means that Kim will have little faith in either of these meetings. Trump is a born liar and likely to break any agreement, usually on twitter before lunch. His dishonesty precludes him from being an effective diplomat because his opponents know he is untrustworthy. It's embarrassing that the leader of an impoverished, backwards nation can make the world's richest country continually seem so foolish.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Just as was predicted. This is what you get when you make demands on a piece of paper and offer no concrete concessions in return. What next another sumit . more demands. Maybe we should get moon to do the negotiations probably get somewhere instead of going around in circles

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Seriously, what did regional States, Governments Politicians expect?......

Reasonable dialogue? Equitable conciliation? Dispassionate logical parlance?.......

Pyongyang is a leopard that will never change its spots.....

Uh-wee, Lincolnman, you have touched a nerve with all of those downvotes. But your points are rock solid. Amazing how these conservatives are in bed with the RUSSIANS and have no problem with a love fest between one of the most despicable, evil dictators of all time, Kim, and have no problem with Trump signing off and giving two million for the torture an American received. Crickets on THAT one from these patriots!!!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Just face the music. NK will keep their nuclear weapons. しようがない

No. Trump and PM Abe wont allow it. Or else Chairman Kim wont get the big Summit with PM Abe in Hokkaido.

Iran has them and so does NK. Sanctions don’t work. Did the oil embargo work with Japan?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Little Rocket Man is at it again.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Trump has claimed to stop all North Korean missile launches, so what happened?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Perhaps a subtle message to the new emperor

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Kim respects power. He respects strength.

Look at how he treats Trump when he was making threats of destruction, how he went to China twice in less than a year, met with Putin on short notice.

Japan, your the weak country in the room. The one that might be rich, but have no real power, respect in the region.

Countries have gone back on the agreements which you signed with them. Even the one called Final and Irreversible.

Russia was promising all kinds of things behind closed doors, you'll get back your islands Japan... Later on while in public and on TV, Japan you get nothing, it was a Russian joke.

Wake up! Hiroshima and Nagasaki can happen again and you have to call America to do something about it. You don't hold your security or safety of Japanese people in your own hands. America does!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

And then people out there still claim that Japan is the 'aggressor' out there.

North Korean government is never to be trusted.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Cricky had it right... they were likely long-range projectiles tha failed. NK does provide sone comic relief in this world of ours. Just like trudeau does.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Trump has claimed to stop all North Korean missile launches, so what happened

Simple he lied or failed probably both. Pretty much sums up Trump so nothing new here

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Kim needs a few lessons from Putin in how to "manage" Trump, Putin is like an expert puppeteer who knows which string to pull and when and this goes for all of the conservatives who post here. Just tell us your Russian handle you comservative posters, will you? Your moderator seems to be so WORRIED about you all.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

oldman_13: Did you read the article? It clearly says: "off its eastern coast (North Korea's)" and "Japan's Defense Ministry said the projectiles weren't a security threat and didn't reach anywhere near the country's coast." Not directed anywhere near Japan.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Trump has been more ineffective on the DPRK than any other president.

-3 ( +14 / -17 )

Just face the music. NK will keep their nuclear weapons. しようがない

Wrong. At least Trump met and talked with the North Korean leader - twice. That's more than the last three U.S. presidents. Plus inter-Korean relations have been steadily improving, something that started around the time of when Kim was being called Little Rocket Man and being threatened with total annihilation by Trump to put pressure on him and let him know it's not business as usual.

North Korea has no plans to give up their Nukes... E V E R !!! They have no reason to...

Survival is not reason enough?

Look around the globe and you'll find Putin's hand trying to undermine US interests; the Middle East, Ukraine Venezuela, Cuba, now Korea. And then we have that "sweeping and systematic" influence campaign during our election in 2015/16. Yet our President has a nice, friendly chat with him ( Putin ) today.

So, Trump shouldn't talk to Putin, right? Good thing you're not in charge, lincoln.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Hahahahaha at "Trump has been more ineffective on the DPRK than any other president." Funniest thing I've heard all day.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

The world should let China annex North Korea as it's one of provinces. Let China train them in the way they treat Uyghul and Tibet. Let South decide whether it wants to join or not.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

As Abe begs for an unconditional meeting. Oops
