Oppositions always has something to say. There is a reason why each perfecture has a governor and why there is health minister. What they expect Suga to do? Stay in Japan because his presence can somehow scare off the pandemic?

Never an actual plan submitted by them.

No wonder Suga needed a poll puff piece about the US liking Japan. He is trying to make the Japanese public believe that he has not been incompetent.

Anyone with common sense knows that Japan being liked by another country is irrelevant to whether or not it has incompetent leadership. (Ex. Former US president 2016-2020)

Whether the US likes a country is becoming less and less important.

Japan is a democracy where the opposition is guaranteed to exist and criticize the government.

A courtesy call to Washington by a newly installed Japanese prime minister is a routine protocol and so there was nothing special I looked forward to this in-person meeting between Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and President Joe Biden. At a press conference the two men started calling each other by a first name to show how intimate and friendly their relations were.

Japanese people, young and old, don't have the custom of calling other persons by first names. A few historical big shots may be referred to by first names in historical context, but first names are usually reserved only for family use for children. Even affectionate titles like chan or san is attached to the first names.

So, it sounds very awkward to hear Suga call Biden "Joe" in person and Biden call Suga "Yoshihide", "Yoshi" or "Hide". Maybe, they should add an affectionate tile to each other's first name, thus, "Mr. Joe" (or “my dear Joe”) or Mr. Yoshihide" (or “my dear Yoshihide”)!

As expected, to our chagrin, Suga and Biden reaffirmed an earlier bilateral agreement done over our heads that Henoko, Nago City, Okinawa was the only solution for the relocation of USMC Air Station Futenma. The assertive China, thank god, is a good excuse for the firm grip of bases in Okinawa by the hegemonic U.S.

What kind of function will the Henoko new base have except for training. Training by the Marines can be done with impunity on the U.S. mainland. Is a jungle warfare training center, with which the new base will surely be integrated, necessary?

Uhhm yes, but what is it exactly about? Could anyone please once again give a list of the results? Only the achieved and positive ones sufficient....as blowing CO2 into the air and burning tax money I know myself.

Biden didn’t even have dinner with Suga but just a hamburger lunch due to the pandemic per media.

I find it hard to believe if Biden visited Tokyo during the pandemic that there would not be a banquet.

Opposition criticizing Suga is like fishing on a barrel, but I haven't heard anything that they would do differently to correct the many problems of the current government. Put forward a real platform and criticism will be the cherry on top.
