Pyongyang called the top U.S. diplomat "reckless" and immature and demanded that he be removed from future negotiations

The thing is, the North Koreans are correct. Unfortunately the other members of the US team are just as bad if not worse.

Pompy is carrying on the Trump tradition of putting ones ego before the good of the nation. Even Kim knows what a jerk Pompeo is.

Conservative Prime Minister Shinzo Abe built his political career campaigning for tough action on North Korea over its abductions of Japanese civilians in the 1970s and 1980s to train the regime's spies.

Meaning that Abe built his career on the suffering of others! Abe talks a good game, but he has yet to come through with anything on his own. He is always on the coattails of Trump.

Abe has been frequently left out of any talks with NK and that just has to burn!

I am sure the WORLD hopes this is not so.

The DPRK needs to stand firm against this tool of the Great Satan. Leave the negotiations with South Korea, Japan and China.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

It took a Republican, albeit an unorthodox one, to put an end to the failed policies of previous administrations

and what has Trump achieved, two failed sumits, NK still has its nukes, rebuilding its testing sites. sanctions haven't done anything to limit NK nuclear capacity. Whats America going to do next, a military attack, do you really think they can take out 16000 artillery batteries before they lay waste to Seoul. Does Trump and his minions really think 100,000s of Korean lives are worth sacrificing for him to achieve his goals. If you answer yes to that then your just as deluded as Trump. NK will never surrender its nukes on an American promise, they want concrete concessions, and who can blame them.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

At any rate, Trump has done no worse than Clinton, Bush and Obama. If you want better results, don’t expect them from any of the Democrats seeking the WH.

and none of them claimed that they'd fix the NK problem and they were any better than the previous POTUS, unlike Trump, shouldnt make BS promises you cant keep or worse still voting for a man believe his promises were even legitimate.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Yes, because they all bent over. Trump did not, will not.

then nothing will change, NK nuke capability wont suddenly go backwards, it may slow but eventually they'll get what they need to make long range missiles, either from China Russia etc. Not that Im saying thats a good thing but history has previously shown nothing short of all out war will stop NK ambitions so with that in mind it seems theres nothing else left to do but negotiate. Kim only has to wait until Trump's gone then he can negotiate with somebody who actually knows what they're doing. A Trump promise is about worth as much as the piece of paper Trump negotiates on.

Obama said, you can keep your doctor, ha!

well I think Obama did pretty well considering we didnt hold the house or senate at any one point in time. Trumps starting to understand its not as easy as he bragged about. when Trumps gone the next POTUS can start wiping away the damaging legacy hes done to AMerica and the world.

NK, do not give in, do not surrender your sovereignty to the US as the Western Powers ( Western Wimps) have done. Kim, do not let the US put you under its heel as most of the West is. Both India and Pakistan have nuclear weapons and you should follow suit. No sovereign nation needs US approval to have a system of self defence, a nuclear program.

NK, do not give in, do not surrender your sovereignty to the US

or China or Russia.

Japanese officials have increasingly worried that hacking, especially by rivals China or North Korea, could be a more immediate threat than any traditional military operation.

This...where’s the F-35?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Pompeo's still in charge, because he has done such a great job so far? Maybe he should get the Nobel Peace Prize, along with Trump.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Penge should watch his back. Poppy is after his job. He he will want trumps. Many countries, organizations and individuals hack japan everyday. Does that mean USA will attack them all?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Pompeo has been doing an outstanding job as Secretary of State. Trump should have made him his first choice rather than Tillerson.

I am sure the WORLD hopes this is not so

No, just Kim Jong Un and the anti-Trumpers.

The DPRK needs to stand firm against this tool of the Great Satan.

The "Great Satan' meaning just Trump or the entire United States of America? lol

Pyongyang called the top U.S. diplomat "reckless" and immature and demanded that he be removed from future negotiations

The thing is, the North Koreans are correct

How do you figure? Sure, Crazy, just side with the North Koreans against our Secretary of State. Jeez...

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

The thing is, the North Koreans are correct.

Yes, they love a pushover, just like back in the old days that would capitulate and give in to the regime in the form of sanction relief in the hopes they will denuclearize, that never happened and never will with this administration.

Unfortunately the other members of the US team are just as bad if not worse.

Good!

Pompy is carrying on the Trump tradition of putting ones ego before the good of the nation. Even Kim knows what a jerk Pompeo is.

Even better!

Do any posters believe Kim has abandoned his family’s ambition (at least those members he hasn’t had killed) of ruling the whole Korean Peninsula?

At any rate, Trump has done no worse than Clinton, Bush and Obama. If you want better results, don’t expect them from any of the Democrats seeking the WH.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

At any rate, Trump has done no worse than Clinton, Bush and Obama.

No, unlike the last 3, he never gave them sanction relief, big, big, big game changer. The one thing that matters to the North Koreans is having sanction relief and Trump didn’t do that, if you call THAT a failure, the he absolutely did the right thing!

and none of them claimed that they'd fix the NK problem and they were any better than the previous POTUS,

Yes, because they all bent over. Trump did not, will not.

unlike Trump, shouldnt make BS promises you cant keep or worse still voting for a man believe his promises were even legitimate.

You have to try. Clinton bragged he’d solve the Mideast conflict, how’d that work out? Made a promise he just couldn’t keep. Obama said, you can keep your doctor, ha!

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

The DPRK needs to stand firm against this tool of the Great Satan. Leave the negotiations with South Korea, Japan and China.

Dear lord, that will never happen, thankfully.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Even when Trump achieves nothing, according to his base, that nothing is somehow better than the nothing of previous presidents.

Because Democrats think appeasement and capitulation is perfectly acceptable.

I get it, it's a difficult problem to solve but that isn't the issue, the issue is the Trump boasting and after a single meeting with Kim,

So what, let him boast, if something comes out of it, fine, if nothing, so what, it’s just one opinion over another.

I think more progress might be achieved between the two Korea's.

Hasn't happened so far and it won’t as long as Kim is in power.

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

"Conservative Prime Minister Shinzo Abe built his political career campaigning for tough action on North Korea "

In other words, the only one with a brain on the issue.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

It took a Republican, albeit an unorthodox one, to put an end to the failed policies of previous administrations and begin making serious progress towards resolving these issues. It’s refreshing having a leader who refuses to be fobbed off in his pursuit of American and wider Western interests and isn’t afraid to speak truth to the lies and obfuscation that’s pretty much S.O.P in this part of the world. The usual crowd aren’t happy about all that of course.
