Wouldn't you know it just before the voting season as well.

Hahahahaha so funny, I wonder who they asked….

0 ( +9 / -9 )

Just after the visit to Ukraine. +1 for that.

Japan's economy? Nah, -1.

Unification Church? Or rather, what happened to Abe's killer? Hmm, -1.

For a total of -1 for my vote.

He's got right temperament, just too bad job itself is mission impossible, as global inflation's a cancer, virus or any other terrible analogy effecting everyone in a not so good way with no end in sight!

Global inflation some combination of pandemic, massive monetary and fiscal stimulus, proxy war in Ukraine, supply chain failures, greedy corp. profiteering, high and rapidly rising debt levels, ongoing money printing, poor demographics damaging workforce participation and productivity, collapse in births, etc.

Hardly this man's fault, what a mess!

Kishida runs around the planet a bit, doesn't accomplish anything, keeps quiet about raising taxes, puts the country further into debt by promising to buy US arms and people forget the corruption in the LDP, the unification church, Dentsu, the Olympics and so on. If the above approval rating is real, this redefines gullibility.

7 ( +15 / -8 )

Public "approval" for the LDP goes up and down like a yo-yo, sound and grumbling, signifying nothing.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Hold off on the ticker tape.

48% approval still means the majority of people are either indifferent to what you are doing or actively oppose it.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Oh wow, so are there any other world leaders also below 50%?

and does this idea that the people are indifferent or against what they doing also apply to them?

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Oh wow, so are there any other world leaders also below 50%?

Just about all of them, if you read a little about international politics.

Except for the likes of Kim, Xi and shaky little Putin - who never, ever drop below the 99.9% approval rate.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

That’s not even true. As a result of surveys you can only have a span of percentages, and you have to name the parameters for the deviation too. The above 48% therefore are something like 45.5 to 50.5% within one standard deviation based on the survey data. That means it could also be 43% only or 53% considered a higher deviation. And btw. an exactly centered value of those 48% is very improbable, sometimes, not in this case, even impossible. For example if you throw dices, the average value will be 3.5 , but no normal human can throw a dice so that it shows 3.5

No normal human can throw a 3.5 dice, so polls are invalid?

Man alive!

The Nikkei newspaper is a right wing mouth piece, you can wonder the area they surveying must be from elderly or rest home!

2 ( +4 / -2 )

His approval ratings are up because the Japanese are all giddy about winning the WBC tourney. Smartest thing he's done yet was inviting them to visit him after the wine.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

The man needs to go ASAP.

-1 ( +8 / -9 )

Did he move people around in his cabinet? That usually works to dazzle the voters enough to raise the support rate.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

Ah the unification church how many ministers still have affiliations there…gee that’s dropped off the radar hasn’t it!

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Imagine being an adult and thinking Kishida is a good leader

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

I supported Mr. Kono, but I cheer for Kishida's success. His success means Japan's success.

Please stay strong on South Korea. Mr. Yoon of Korea himself said Japan doesn't have to apologies anymore, they have done it dozens of times already, Paid compensation multiple times. Even Korean government officials and citizens living in Japan are telling us to Stop Doing It! You're fueling the fire every time you do it!

2015 agreement was accepted by majority of victims, over 70%, yet in 2017 they backed away under Moon administration, complaining again.

1965 agreement took 15 years to be signed, reviewed by Koreans and it's government, Universities, Intellectuals..... They took it's sweet time in thinking about everything and adding all issues. Which worked for 30 years.... then complain again, unhappy again, want a new deal.

You give an inch to Korea? They take a hundred kilometers! In the end by 2018, they wanted a new deal for comfort the women, new deal or payment for labor work, again. That means the 1965 agreement which was Supposed to Cover Everything, by 2018 It Doesn't Cover Anything.

If you told Japanese in 1965, That S.Korea would want more in the future, more money, new apologies, more issues to complain! Japan would not Signed The Deal and Agreement Worth Billions upon Billions in 2023. The Miracle on The Han River Could not happen without Japanese money, support, technology, copy of business practices and ideas!

Public approval for Kishida's cabinet rises

Why?

Because he "got rid of" the numerous criminals he brought into office?

Because he spent who knows how much tax money on traveling around the world while accomplishing nothing? Well, other than having his son go on shopping sprees.

Because he took a little picture with the Japanese WBC Champion, which he had nothing to do with. He just happened to be in the office when they took the picture.

Because the sakura are blooming now, and it's as if it hasn't happened before, every single year since, life?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I bet his approval ratings will go up again when we have G7 Meeting in May at his home town, Hiroshima.

Sounds like Abe., But you forget things, and it's probably due to your hatred of all things american military related, that cloud and logic Japan makes money off of arms sales, and it is far cheaper to purchase what it needs, than to spend generations developing and manufacturing it.

Oh and if the arms sales alone was the guideline for "debt" you really are out of tune with reality here.

@ReasonandWisdomNippon

Sure sure buddy. Like I was sayin, you gotta focus on the bigger picture here.

SHow some support for the real Japanese losing shirts and sleeves and life savings to maniac preachers and vote for me volunteers. You wanna talk about majority of victims, ok. But If you told Japanese in 1965, in 2023 a Korea founder church cult… they'd run you outta town

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Could not happen without Japanese money, support, behind the scenes witch doctor business practices and ideas!

Same goes for "moonies"

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Kishida looks like a puppet and acts like one too-there’s nothing there to support…
