Ganbare Japan!
Again? Every morning there is news of yet another protest by SK against Japan. This was settled permanently in 1965. The case is closed. As I have said before, there must be internal unrest in SK and a possible coup coming, its the only way to explain why SK is using these anti-Japan rallies as smokescreen.

@Ganbare Japan!
What coup?
NCIS Reruns
I'm sort of surprised SK hasn't submitted a bill to the US for all the damage it did to the country while defending it during the 1950-52 war. They'll get around to it eventually I suppose.

this just tells foreign companies that both koreas are rogue states, and any sort of investment in these states is a bad idea.
Goodlucktoyou
Good on them.

Investment in Japan may no be such a good idea at the moment, looking at Japan s rougue law.

@Ex-Res
Exactly, just look at the plight of Ghosn and Kelly.

Those plaintiffs and others now suing S.K Government would mingle together after all and taking whatever possible from both Japanese companies and S.K Government? What a glorious mess!

Most Japanese companies would get out of S Korea in the near future because actually no profit there and then would move to South Asia and India. It seems matter of time they are out of there.
Matt Hartwell
I think they will do that naturally anyway.
South Korea, like Japan, is an aging society at a rate not much better than Japan. The potential for large upswings in profits is surely highly limited.
Japan needs to focus on India as a market in its own right and as a manufacturing base to take advantage of Act East and India position on the sub-continent for an eventual push into the Mid East and Africa.
Also Indonesia and Thailand.

SK seems to be doing what PRC is silently urging them to do, otherwise the Chinese tourism trade will not resume fully. Doing the gardening for your hated neighbor so they'll stop throwing rubbish over into your garden.

Treat South Korea the way they have been treating Japan for the last several decades. North Korea and China can teach Japan exactly how to deal with this child in the South.
If they touch Japanese assets do the same in return and Korea will back down like a wet dog.

Time to forget the past and join hands in mutual cooperation and property.

This has become a big head ache for the businesses in in S. Korea & China...When is this going to stop in these two money greedy countries? What about the war crimes of S. Korea against Vietnam ?? There will be no end to this if countries go on behaving like this.
Just grow up S. Korea and time to move ahead !

South Korea must be a very boring country if this is all these people have to do. This issue was resolved decades ago and compensation was paid. They should be petitioning their own government to get some of the funds paid that were spent on infrastructure and not passed onto the those who the money was intended for.

Don't buy Korean products.

Japan, just brush it off your shoulders and move along. South Korean courts have no jurisdiction over you, so who cares if the South Korean court says you SHOULD pay the money. Should does not = must.
All of these countries have a never ending history of doing bad things to each other. Ultimately, the past is the past.
South Korean comfort women demand Japan pay them. South Korean forced labor workers demand Japan pay them. South Korean Navy demands Japan apologize for plane/ship incident. How about German women demand payment of their rapes with Russian/American forces fought against Hitler in WWII? Or Russian women demand payment from Germany for their rapes by German forces? Literally everyone in every country can extend their hand for payment from someone.

Apparently no justice was delivered for these people. Whatever settlement is imposed should not bankrupt the company, nor does compensate for pain and suffering.

What I see here is SK is trying to compete with Japan, they think they can now stand on their own in terms of economic progress. This is pure SK attitude and moral. No respect of treaties and negotiations. This happens and if Im not mistaken, a standoff also happened between a South Korean ship and a Japanese SDF jet. Moon Jae In and Kim Jong Un pressuring Japan and asking sympathy from the world. Stop this crap Korea, this is the best time for Japan to take preemptive measures whatever the cost may be.

Or we could just move on and stop living our lives in the past.
