Suga is about as appealing as 100 grit toilet paper. So que the local stories and the 100 sit ups pieces.

I understand that this is a parliamentary democracy, but denying LDP rank and file the vote (which would likely result in Ishiba becoming PM), means that Suga has about as much mandate to rule as a BM.

Reminds of when I visited the northern Kyoto coastal town of Obama just after Barak Obama was elected. Barak Obama sweets, rice crackers, t-shirts and main streets lined with America flags.

People here always support someone from their town, regardless of their politics. That's not always a good thing. In Hokkaido, Muneo Suzuki got out of prison and skulked back home... to supporters from his hometown who then voted him in again.
