Trump only cares about that noble peace prize that he so desperately wants and sees peace with NK as the "easy" way there. I'm almost amazed that he didn't give the North everything they wanted in easing sanctions in Hanoi, probably would have if everyone else in the govt. told him not to!

Watching this news conference, as an American I had to just hang my head in shame. This bumbling idiot, who can't even talk in complete sentences made a complete fool out of himself. He's so senile he can't even follow a reporter's question - he goes off on some nonsensical rant.

Then he goes and admits he agrees with his "love", Kim the Killer, on his insult of Joe Biden. Ever heard of giving aide and comfort to the enemy Mr Commander in Chief? What if Joe had said; "Yea I agree, Trump is a "mentally deranged dotard".... The Trumpers would be melting down...

Trump is quick to label someone a traitor or treasonous - he ought to look in the mirror when he utters those words.

What if Iran fired the same missile tests

But then again, there's no oil or Israel in East Asia, just East Asians

The United States is seeking greater access to the Japanese market for products such as beef, pork and wheat, as American farmers have become less competitive following the activation of the Trans-Pacific Partnership

Why not just let japan buy and have more access to advanced US weaponry to narrow the trade gap...

"Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who is hosting the president on four-day state visit full of pageantry"

And this is just more pageantry, isn't it?

There had long been a tradition of American leaders and candidates avoiding partisan talk on foreign soil.

Just because Trump is president does not make him a leader in anything other than name only. Trump has no cares in the world about traditions, protocol, or anything "presidential". Trump just cares about Trump.

Regardless what he thinks、Did he break with Abe?

Good Show! Thank God, for President Trump, he brought America back from the absolute spiral of Economic devastation from the horrible Obama/Biden administration. And keeps close with good Allies like Japan. He attended a Sumo match, hand out a trophy, even met with the New Emperor, and still managed to get in a great game of golf.

Good Show! Thank God, for President Trump, he brought America back from the absolute spiral of Economic devastation from the horrible Obama/Biden administration.

What world do you live in? The Great Recession was started in 2007 during President Bush's second term - it cratered the US economy - and was all due to Repubs being in bed with their Wall St buddies allowing them to sell consolidated debt obligations. President Obama brought the economy back from the brink of a Depression. Read history, not Breitbart...

And keeps close with good Allies like Japan. He attended a Sumo match, hand out a trophy, even met with the New Emperor, and still managed to get in a great game of golf.

And showed himself to be a bumbling idiot...not a "very stable genius"...

Abe should be expecting this action.

Trump has shown time and time again, he's not a President you can cozy up to and wrap around your finger. He's not going to ease up on trade or push the abductee issue just because he had a good time in Japan.

Donald Trump keeps his monstrous collection of insecurities at bay by constant boasting, self-serving lies and denials of reality. This is a pathetic human being degrading everything he touches.

Trump personifies the very worst among us: A weak man's idea of a strong man. A poor man's idea of a rich man. A fool's idea of a wise man.

NK is estimated to have one of the largest untapped mineral and rare earth deposits in the world.

"Kim Jong Un made a statement that Joe Biden is a low-I.Q. individual," Trump said, adding that Kim probably based his assessment on Biden's record and "I probably agree with him on that."

This is pretty low.

I think Abe, and ONLY Abe, thought his butt kissing would end in anything else.

Bolton and Abe are right when they say NK short range missile tests are a violation of UN Security Council resolutions. Trump is right when he says he's not too worried about them as it's expected that Kim has to show off a bit to keep up his image at home. And they're not flying over Japan.

Indeed. Bolton and Abe spoke official, legal views. Really it does not bother Abe or Japanese people either. Trump is only saying nothing changes the course he set for NK denuclearization: NK will not get carrots BEFORE it starts abandoning nuclear weapons under the bright sunlight. Abe and Japan cannot be happier.

Alternative Headline: 2 Leaders Disagree about Missiles that Barely Work

If you hang your head in shame, do so at your own self-flagellation.

The corporate news will make you hate yourself.

But only if you believe them.

Wink. Wink.

What is that brown spot on Abe's nose? Did he get a new mole? Doesn't look like it. I'm having a hard time blowing up my screen to get a clear look at it. Surely someone should go and try to wipe it off.

All I can say is that I hope world peace, love, compassion and understanding can prevail. Many people bash Trump on here but don't anyone on here say anything about how the people of japan, and abe, obviously love him. Not saying that is a bad thing, as I like him myself (other than how he is so buddy buddy with abe and japan, but that is his personal relationship). But as for me, from personal experience, i still worry and don't trust japan. that is just me from my personal history, trauma, and experience. would be nice to say otherwise. people say japan is an ally, i am not really sure. i feel they are just doing what they need to for now. I just can't understand how every on here dislikes him so much. I am proud of my President and my country. Have a happy memorial day.

Does he agree with John Bolton being called a "war maniac", though?

I'm truly sorry your time in Japan was not a good one. But you shouldn't let it color your views towards the entire country and its people. It's like dismissing America because of the actions of Trump and his followers. It would be ridiculous to believe that he represents the entire American people.

I just can't understand how every on here dislikes him so much. I am proud of my President and my country.

If you've been following the news for the last few years, you might have some idea just why he's the worst thing to happen to your country, and indeed, the world. His lies, racism, nepotism, going back on deals, violent rhetoric, obstruction and cosying up to dictators causes concern. Abe's love-in looks foolish, and a bit desperate.

Have a happy memorial day.

I don't celebrate your country's holidays, for the most but I will remember the many brave men, women and children who died as a result of the futility of war.

Fascinating article here, btw.

Kim acting tough grants him Trump's respect while Abe's brown-nosing just gets him even more belittled. LOL!

Aye. The fawning sycophancy on display is hard to stomach and quite frankly, rather embarrassing.

Reluctantly agree. Doesn't mean I support the regime, of course. Or any country carrying out missile tests and stoking the flames of conflict.

This is Trump's way of not losing.... by not even acknowledging the other side has just continued to do as it pleases. First he puts up a hard, bully like, noisy front. Then he tries to negotiate for better terms. If it works... he'd the next Jesus Christ.... and he'll pretty much tell anyone that will listen just that. If it does not work. He plays it way down.
