He should have been briefed on basic info, like the name of the leader he is announcing a visit from. He may have been briefed, or at least an attempt was made to brief him. The demented old fart doesn't listen to anyone who is not talking about him and he really has no interest in anyone who can't line his pockets with ill gotten booty.

And as for the "US Steel Deal", I've seen posters critical about the US gov't blocking the deal. The Japanese gov't seems to be just as involved in facilitating from the opposite perspective, so commenting that US gov't should stay out of the deal seems a bit hypocritical of pro-sale posters. Japanese Gov't strongly pursuing sale...US Gov't strongly blocking deal...if you want to say they are both wrong for meddling in private company affairs, that seems fair.
