Third time now?

I really wish the US would stop trying to goad NK into doing something stupid... seriously, it looks like Trump WANTS to start a war with NK.

1 ( +10 / -9 )

Is it true this time? Who knows, with this blithering idiot at the controls. Of course, South Korea and Japan would be small sacrifices to pay for teaching 'this gentleman' (who runs North Korea in a conflated synthesis with his father and grandfather) a lesson. Nice work, trumpty!

There's a far more dangerous country for the US than NK: Pakistan! Once the extreme Islamists there get their hands on a nuke, they will nuke a US city. Guaranteed!

North Korea is SOUTH Koreas problem.

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

Pakistan has had Nukes for years.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@yakyak - No, mate. I'm sorry to inform you that North Korea is the WORLD'S problem !

11 ( +14 / -3 )

Both NK and ISIS hate the US fiercely. NK's nuclear 'arsenal' (if there is anything like that at all) is a much lesser treat than that of Pakistan.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

I like Xi's cool-headed approach. Although a 6th nuclear test would obviously be far from ideal, this would not warrant a US/SK attack on NK.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Pakistan has had Nukes for years. yet they dont state theyre going to nuke anybody who doesnt agree with them, India their main rival also has them bringing a balance in the region.

Once the extreme Islamists there get their hands on a nuke, they will nuke a US city. Guaranteed possible but its also guaranteed that Pakistan or any country that harbours these extremist would be nuked into oblivion. difficult to continue an ideology when your home is a radiactive wasteland

It's the war mongering nation right on que. Someone needs to call the pentagon and notify them that with nuclear weaponry involved, the outcome will not lead to regime change. Did the cold war teach nothing? Must america continue to heave and ho adinfinitum, bringing destruction and despair in its wake all to prove relevance in today's world? Where's the uns outcry? Oh I'm sorry. My mistake. You can't bite the hand that pays your salary!!

Y'know, "wtfjapan", how should I tell you that you are wrong...

I have not heard of a successful terrorist that warned everyone once every weekend that he will nuke them. They usually, you know, PLAN IT SILENTLY.

Get real please.

Yes, you have to give China credit here - they are the voice of reason amongst all of the idiocy from the North Koreans and Yanks.

Stock up on water and canned food, battery's. Keep you car petrol full.

Uh, there are a couple of things I'd like to state:

1) Islamists are actually losing ground in Pakistan, so the chances of them getting their hands on nukes are slimming down.

2) Pakistan is kinda a Non-NATO ally of America and has a number of deals with China. So I don't see how Pakistan would be a threat to either. By those standards, Russia would be an even bigger threat if you ask me.

3) While Pakistan is in quite the shambles, its situation is far from that of NK. Also, I don't think they have any equivalent of Kimmy at the helm of affairs.

4) If I'm not wrong, Pakistan hasn't gone around threatening to nuke other countries, while that's not the case with NK.

Hey People,

North Korea having nukes isn't the problem. The problem is developing ICBM;s that can deliver the nukes to the USA.

Considering Kim has threatened on many occasions to nuke the USA I think Trump and the Americans have every right to stop him building himself an ICBM delivery system. And the sooner the better. North Korea is a failed fascist dictatorship led by a dangerous criminal that claims to be divine. The sooner North Korea is liberated from such oppression the better. I can't wait to see kim fall and either be killed or end up in jail.

> Please kindly inform us once you've finished signing up at the army recruiting center to go stop kim.

All those missiles from the picture reminds me of those plastic models from the 80s.

Going to Japan next month. Good timing!

If they had the weaponry to take out all of South Korea, Japan, and the continental US, they would've done it already and pillaged for the resources they badly need and have been denied through sanctions. Kim is only postering, hoping no one pulls back the curtain back on him in front of his own public.

OK that's it. The world is so tired of the brainless fake ball of fat in NK and the pathetic threats and sheer BS. Not to speak of the immense suffering of the people and all the daily atrocities that go on there. Every single person in NK and every single person outside NK knows it is a giant fake pantomine. It will not end. Time to act before it's too late. The risk of nuclear war is one we cannot accept. Take out the fat and save as many NK folks as we can. Save the world from more belligerence, threats, suffering and wasting our time so we can get back to our lives.

After nearly two years of unparalleled events taking place, of ‘norms’ being shown to be anything but, well, I can not but believe that it is possible, that North Korea will go to war, eve nuclear. I fancied a holiday anyway.

I hope, hope with every fibre of my being that this doesn’t tip into the madness that seems so close to spilling itself over the region, but, well.... be prepared for the worst seems to be the best description of the recent past.

China owns N Korea. It feeds and arms the country, giving it nuclear tech etc. It is therefore China's responsibility to get rid of the problem. Period.

Reading some of the comments I am wondering what people think should be done about this. It is North Korea that has actually launched missiles toward Japan. While Kim and his inner circle live lives of luxury, the populace starves. The North Korean regime is a dictatorship that is not benefiting the society as a whole. The North Korean citizens are helpless, many weak from being malnourished.

Some say sending an aircraft carrier is a provocation. I guess I would have to ask what alternatives should be explored? Sanctions have been tried and the sanctions only harm the poor and malnourished in North Korea. Are not the North Korea missile launches in themselves a provocation? It matters not the carrier is sent (as it is travelling in international waters) but it would matter if the U.S. initiated a first strike, which has not happened (and hopefully will not).

Of course no one wants war. I believe the U.S. still holds a great deal of leverage over China. Without the U.S. a major portion of China's economy would be devastated (a mere lack of customers and a lack of jobs provided by U.S. companies who set up shop in China for the cheap labor).

That said, it seems the best approach would be to take a hard line on China relative to trade. Use trade as a negotiating tool to get them to help solve this problem. If the U.S. tries to do this alone I do not think the outcome will be good. South Korea and possibly Japan would bear the brunt of a North Korean response.

I do not think North Korea has the ability to launch a nuclear missile although they have both key sections of the puzzle solved (the weaponry and the delivery system) it does not seem they have them integrated yet.

In the end the best result would be a peaceful re-unification of the peninsula under South Korean rule. From numerous trips to Korean and speaking to people there it seems to also be what most Koreans would like the end game to be.

There is a part of me that says the U.S. should stay out of this, but no matter what the U.S. has done in the past North Korea has clearly stated the U.S. is considered an enemy and the North Korean government has indicated a desire to strike the U.S. mainland. This did not start under Trump, these provocations occurred under Obama, Bush, and those before them.

The letters in the picture are 세계의평화와안정을위하여 "For the Peace and the Stability of the World". If they could abandon their nuclear program, no one would be interested in attacking them. But they cannot and forcible abandonment of their nuclear program is inevitable, sooner or later.

All out war would be of detriment to anyone king in Japan - it is not the way forward at all......,

The citizens are going hungry and that fat kid just got fatter. No point talking further. Just target a bomb at his residence similar to the Saddam Hussein saga in Iraq.
