China is the undisputed master of buying weaker countries. Yet they can't even buy out a fellow communist nation?

OssanAmerica, Vietnam just uses Japan, it is so obvious.

Doesn't Japan Inc do a tonne of manufacturing in Vietnam? Vietnam and Thailand are two major hubs for Japanese manufacturing so I wouldn't say its a one way relationship.

True though that Vietnam clings to Japan as a way of hedging against China but so do most S.E Asian countries. They use the U.S and Japan as a hedge against more aggressive Chinese coercion while still making a lot of money out the billion plus Chinese consumers.

Pretty smart way of going about things to be honest. Its definitely in the interests of those countries to keep Japan and America thoroughly engaged in Asia as much as it is to keep the peace with China.
