Haley, who served at the U.N. under former President Donald Trump's administration, ran a yearlong presidential campaign …. She has endorsed Trump in the November elections.

Nikki Haley’s January prediction is coming true.

"Let's speak some hard truths. If Donald Trump becomes the Republican nominee, we will get a President Kamala Harris. You mark my words. He cannot win a general election ... he can't get independents. He can't get suburban women …” — Nikki Haley, January 2024, Newsmax Interview

Nate Silver’s most current Silver Bulletin forecast has Kamala Harris winning the election.

And which government office and administration are you representing Nikki? You're endorsing trump and last I heard, trump said that Xi wrote him a "beautiful" letter and boasted that he had good relations with Xi. What gives? GOP speaking out of both sides of their mouth.

Nikki, Nikki, Nikki. You’re in the wrong party.

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

That's great, now about throwing the orange traitor who thinks Taiwan should pay up under the bus?

-3 ( +11 / -14 )

Nikki sure is doing her best to stay in the limelight...I guess she realizes someone is melting down and soon will self-implode into a bunch of orange smoke...

Would be smart to print up those Haley/Rubio 2024 banners now...

The Ketagalan Forum is funded and organised by the Taiwanese government and something called the Prospect Foundation, using tax-payers money. Haley is the latest in a long line of washed-up Western politicians taking Taiwanese tax-payers' money to denounce China and reclaim a brief moment in the media limelight. Last year the British idiot Liz Truss was paid £80,000 for a speech, Mike Pompeo got $150,000 a couple of years ago and Pelosi was paid a king's ransom, by all accounts. Money for old rope.

-1 ( +12 / -13 )

She should worry more about her pathetic party that lost all the advantage they had against Biden.

Now Kamala is going to mop the floor with them, LOL

GOP modus operandi

Talk tough in front of camera, bow to enemies behind camera.

Haley has been wrong so many times, it's not even funny, I wouldn't even take what she says with the tiniest grain of salt. Lol

-15 ( +3 / -18 )

Warmonger and militarist politicians like Haley and Noda pretend to stand for the self-determination of Taiwan and are worried about the Taiwan Strait. Actual knowledge of Taiwan's history is useful.

Colonial powers like the Dutch and Spanish invaded the Taiwan Strait, followed much later by the Americans. Japanese imperialists made Taiwan their colony.

In the Sino-Japan war of 1894-95, Japan invaded Taiwan and took control of it away from the Qing dynasty of China.

After Japan's defeat in 1945, control of Taiwan returned to the Kuomintang ROC government.

The Kuomintang was defeated by the CCP in 1949 and retreated from the mainland to Taiwan.

The US navy began patrolling the Taiwan strait in 1950 at the same time as the Korean war began and has been arming Taiwan ever since.

MS. Haley is what Taiwan and Asia needs at last.

Can serve her own nation, may be India or Asia!??

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

US export figures to China nearly $200 billion

Exports to Taiwan around $45 billion.

US has a trade deficit with both countries.

Have to look at the comparative disadvantage/advantages of dropping one nation and embracing another.

Cant see Taiwan winning this race.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

I doubt If Taiwan needs her support.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Nikki Halley is pretty vocal for an ex-diplomat.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Nikki Haley wants America to fight wars with absolute every country it doesn't like, while supporting the genocidal Netanyahu regime in Israel. It would be a tragedy if China shut down Taiwan, which is the only viable democracy in East Asia (along, possibly, with South Korea but not Japan). But America can't get involved in World War III over the Taiwan issue. It would have a terrible (probably radioactive) impact on the whole world.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

To give Haley and Noda credit, they are right about Taiwan. If it were recognized as a country and treated as such China might find itself rather frustrated. Taiwan is not communist. That's why it came to be Taiwan and not part of China. Haley's past has nothing to do with this issue. Focusing on the subject, she and Noda are right.

Haley has been wrong so many times, it's not even funny, I wouldn't even take what she says with the tiniest grain of salt. Lol

Perhaps you’re right. Days before the previous election, she predicted a “landslide” Trump victory repeatedly claiming the polls indicating a Biden victory “oversample Democrats over Republicans.”

Oh, sorry. That wasn’t Haley. That was you.

You were wrong. Big time.

China, represented by the Beijing government, and the undisputed capital of all of China, is the sole international voice of China.

Taiwan is a breakaway separatist province with no UN-recognition as an independent state.

Clearly it is Beijing's real estate.

-9 ( +3 / -12 )

All that needs to happen is for most of the world to recognize Taiwan as a country, start trading, support them in the UN and watch China freak out and make threats to all their customers ... or former customers.

If China picks on small partners of Taiwan (they will, that's what bullies do), then all the other countries need to agree to help those negatively impacted by the Chinese tantrum.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Follow the money. Nikki couldn't care less about Taiwan unless she was compensated for these irrelevant and rehashed talks. The real war is not Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippians, Tibet, Xinjiang, and so on. None of these will be coming to fruition.

China is getting rid of dollars for gold. You might even see the U.S. criticize China for its overcapacity of Au. 1974 in 2024. The US is losing the economic war against China. If you buy US debt, they won't pay by creating a conflict in Southeast Asia.

That's why there won't be a conflict in SE Asia. Follow the money.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

To add a bit of historical trivia Chiang Kai-shek, being a southerner, moved the capital of the Republic of China to Nanjing (南京) and renamed Beijing (北京 northern capital) Beiping (北平 northern peace).

Taipei/Taibei (台北) clearly is the capital of a province.

More international recognition than Russia's disgraces.

Clearly it is Beijing's real estate.

Clearly the conclusion does not follow.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Recognition of China, not Taiwan , is fairly recent phenomena.

Australia was one of the first during the Whitlam years, Nixon was around the same time.

I cant see the world reversing the position such that Taiwan is recognised as "truly China " and China not so recognised.

Real politics.

Move on people.

Why does Taiwan get special treatment as a separatist region?

Don't see why reunification - by force if necessary - should not apply to it as other break away provinces.

I believe Ukraine should have right to try to reunite with the provinces removed by Russia.

Right. Move on to Taiwanese independence.

Taiwan is not communist. That's why it came to be Taiwan and not part of China.

They didn't choose to go to Taiwan because they were not Communist. They were corrupt and pocketed US money and military aid. The US said no more and pulled the plug. They lost and escapted to the island. They lost to a bunch of country bumpkins led by Mao. You can find many examples of US pullout when they tire and lose their resolve and don't fight to the end: China, Korea, Vietnam, Niger, Chad, Afghanistan and so on.

And yet that same system has secured Taiwan's freedom from the toilet that is the CCP.

Incorrect. The Qing Dynasty ceded Taiwan to Japan in 1895. Japanese military entered and occupied Taiwan which was already Japanese territory. There was no "invasion" of Taiwan. The Sino-Japaese War took place mostly off the coasts of the Korean Penninsula.

So, Beijing has the same right to reunite with the provinces removed by Washington.

That is called consistency.

Because I am 100% consistent, I can admit that it does indeed have the legal right to attack Taiwan. Whether it is moral to eliminate 24 million people and kick off ww3 is another matter, however.

I think she speaks well and will be a solid part of the GOP once they are cured of their cancer. They would have had a much better chance with her as running mate but their supporters are too brainwashed.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Imagine only if Taiwan didn't have TMSC, HHPI, or the rests of electronics mega corporations. The country would not have any more value for the west, nor interests. And probably China also.

All those Political games are just for who is going to have the largest access to the Taiwanese technology and resources. It's all so hypocritical.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Nikki Haley is all over the place. She does not know who she hates more. Trump for ruining her chances of being the Republican nominee ultimately defeating Biden and becoming the first woman to be president of the US.

Or, Kamala Harris who is now the Democratic nominee with both African and also Asian ancestry (Indian) and also a woman.

Interesting fact: Nikki Haley who refuses to use her official Indian name unlike Kamala and racially identifies as Caucasian on official documents despite both parents being ethnic Indian immigrants (Asian).

Her lack of authenticity is a significant reason for her failure to reach the top spot, but she was close!

Nikki Haley's children like JD Vance's have more in common with Kamala Harris than with their Republican parents.

VP Harris soon to be President Harris will probably be on US currency someday!

The price of gold is high, and both Russia China are trying to destabilize the West by replacing the dollar as the most valued currency. They want to replace it with a currency that they can control. They are trying to force other trade partners to use non US currency. They are trying to do it with oil and also acquiring as much precious medals as possible.

Problem is most countries around the world just do not trust either Communist-esque country. In fact, China and Russia do not trust each other!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Yes, this is the real war and not these riots in Hong Kong or an old ship in the South China Seas.

Problem is most countries around the world just do not trust either Communist-esque country.

It doesn’t have to be most countries. Just as long as certain countries can safeguard their assets and not be held hostage. The U.S. can no longer dictate all trade be in USD.

The G-7 and “the world” can continue to use the USD for trade. Countries now can use other non-dollar currencies for trade (India/Russia, Saudi Arabia/China.) There is a choice. That’s democracy.

Nikki Haley’s source and sponsorship is non other than the defense industry.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

All those Political games are just for who is going to have the largest access to the Taiwanese technology and resources. It's all so hypocritical.

In the past you’d take materials such as 500 year old cedar tree trunks, gold, ivory, and so on from the weaker nations. Now you go after their technology and just move their technology and factory to your country.

The crucible of the revolution is Yan'an, Shaanxi very much isolated from any outside influence. Anyway Russia was kinda busy with a Nazi menace at the time.

Nikki Haley who refuses to use her official Indian name unlike Kamala and racially identifies as Caucasian on official documents despite both parents being ethnic Indian immigrants (Asian).

Haley was born Nimrata Nikki Randhawa, and she has chosen to use her middle name, as many people do — even southern white MAGA supporters.

Years before she entered into elective politics, she listed her race as "white" on her voter registration card because there was no "South Asian" or "Indian" classification on the card. In fact, when Haley was born in 1972, U.S. federal agencies generally classified Indian Americans as white.

But I’m sure you knew all this already.

@quercelum As you know the Chinese use the term 同胞 for Taiwanese which is often translated as 'compatriot' but in Chinese it is much more visceral indicating close family.

If the US really wants to, they will form even stronger alliances for future wars.

Nikki Haley and former Japan PM Noda should have stated what they speaketh now while they were still both active at their lofty positions.

It's precisely because of their deafening silence then that enabled the PROC to bully Taiwan now.

It's a scientific puzzle that totally expired products always speaks louder than the present active US UN Ambassador and Japanese Prime Minister.
