PAmong other high-profile names that could be on the move, economic revitalization minister Toshimitsu Motegi is tipped to be in line for a promotion.

Because he has done such a cracking job?

His close aides Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga and Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso, who doubles as finance minister, are expected to stay on in their roles.

Because they are big earners for the LDP, money trumps aptitude.

Shinjiro Koizumi, a rising political star and son of former Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, is rumored to be in the running for a cabinet post in the reshuffle.

Nepotism at its finest, as most politicians claim their position solely on their pedigree it's no suprise.

Id like to see a cabinet that had the people's needs in mind. I know not going to happen.

still working (and that's a loose term) at 80.?

so he had not planned a retirement, just snout in the trough of public funds untill death?

just the sort of person to guide Japan into the future.

reporters have no idea what he mumbles, best to release him into the wild.

Aso would still have an active position in the LDP if he were bed-ridden.

Reshuffle the deck using the same 52 cards.  Plus on 9/11?

Probably hoping for a wild card! As for the date, it's Japan, not the USA. Or Chile.
