I guess that you forgot the part where I asked for specifics. Which tax cuts? Which regulations? Which trade deals? Identify them and then show how they have had a real impact by cross-referencing credible sources or other analysis that can support your assertion.

Both of which Trump can't get credit for unless you can actually state the specific policies and legislation that he has put forth that has (in your mind) made this happen
Um, tax cuts. Rolling back regulations. Better trade deals negotiated. These are reality.
dmacleod
Wow, so down-votes instead of actual debate and discussion are a credible substitute as an answer to the questions that I raised. Sadly, this is just another pathetic failure by the hyper-partisans on these boards to engage in a meaningful discussion.

Joint Statement of the United States and Japan issued September 26, 2018
5. The agreement mentioned above is designed to be mutually beneficial, and, in conducting those negotiations, the United States and Japan will respect positions of the other government:
For the United States, market access outcomes in the motor vehicle sector will be designed to increase production and jobs in the United States in the motor vehicle industries; and
For Japan, with regard to agricultural, forestry, and fishery products, outcomes related to market access as reflected in Japan’s previous economic partnership agreements constitute the maximum level.
It's TPP based tariff schedule.

Yeah, and starve Japan to death at the same time. Good going.

Wishful thinking on the part of Abe-soridaijin. The current occupant of the White House is only interested in being reelected for a second term.
He will insult and offend anyone in the process of pandering to his political base.

Abe san may hope for a "Win-Win" deal, but there is no "Win-Win" in Trump's mind, only "Win-Lose" deals.
Trump will threaten Abe san with 25% auto tariff on Japanese cars to extract concession on Japan's agricultural and rice market, and open up service sector.

Please reduce wheat import from USA. Japan's food self-sufficiency is dangerously too low. Reduce car export there instead.
Japan's demand for wheat far outsrips it's ability to produce it. Wheat is a "dry" grain. Japan is too wet to produce proper wheat.

Love the photo. Two Titians of the world: Abe and Trump!

Hasn't Trump made himself clear; America First, to hell with the rest; America First, sanctions to the rest.

Nobody wins when Trump is involved
lostrune2
Dunno how Japan could get a win-win out of this
Most likely Japan would be worse off

I am glad to see Abe and Trump seem to have a good relationship.

Win-win?
I don't think so.
More like Trump 2 Abe 0.
Good old Shinzo. Not so much a leader as a puppy dog!

it is very sad for japan that abe has to look at big brother trum all the time. Doesn't Japan has any other countries as trading partners ???.

I don't know, the yellow stripe seems to suit Prime Minister Abe!

Shafted so often on previous occasions, by negotiating partners who meant “No’ when they said ‘Yes’, the U.S would be well advised to take its time, adopt a results oriented focus, insist that all and any promises be verifiable, and have a mechanism for ensuring that there will be consequences, in the form of Japanese style white paper trade embargoes, in the case of backsliding.

I tip my hat to you ! Spot on!

Akie's probably glad Abe is in love with someone else. Look at his face -- he is absolutely smitten! Anyway, it'll be win for the US, lose for Japan, in one or another. For example, the last time Trump caressed Abe's hand and the latter was love struck yet again, he volunteered our taxes towards 120 or so fighter jets, effectively eliminating any talk of postponing the consumption tax hike, since we have to pay for it. So, it'll be Trump taking what he wants, Abe giving him what he wants, and us paying for Abe being able to look into Trump's eyes like a little puppy.
Then Trump will go on treating Abe like that puppy while he actually respects strong leaders.

So they still have not negotiated how american company are going to take over the supply chain in between Japan and South Korea ?

@dbsaiya S'matter, what about those similar stripe pattern neckties but with contrasting colors? :D
@gokai The deal benefiting both countries is coming.
