More lies. Just as is the theme "Reconstruction Olympics". A misnomer if there ever was, and sadly 1,000s are suffeering because of it.

The ￥Trillions being spent on the Olympics - primarily in the Kanto region - is of little help to the people of Tohoku.

In Fact, the Olympic con, has / is draining 10,000s of workers, specialists and untold capital in the construction industry from the devastated areas.

Abe - tell us all again - "How is this helping the recovery of the Tohoku region?"

It would be so very nice to know the truth whether it REALLY is or isn't safe there. It seems impossible to get the facts due to special interests on either side of the issue.

The sensors are in real time. You're looking at the data as of a few seconds ago. If you want to read the data for that sensor, click on the more info link, and it'll give you the data. Then you'll see 2 hours ago and 7 months ago compared together. Also the map has the locations underneath otherwise the sensor will display it's location as well. You just use your mouse, man

Also Safecast didn't exist yet on March 21, 2011 as this was a community science response to the crisis because the government kept moving the goal posts and wasn't releasing information to the public. Safecast had to make the sensors, and set them up etc. Questions you can ask Safecast

Can't tell from a couple of data points if it's dropping that drastically (unlikely) or if it's just a shift in wind / season / some other factor. At any rate, neither of those appears high to what I can see. ("The average radioactive background dose in the UK is 2.7 millisieverts.").

I don’t trust safecast. I measured 0.170-0.180μSv/h in 2 separate places after the last typhoon when I visited Kyoto.

On the same day as Tepco release the virtual tour on mobile in English, it is to bring faith back to the area, Fukushima is recovering.

The UK 2.7 millisieverts are in units per year as noted from their government website: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/ionising-radiation-dose-comparisons/ionising-radiation-dose-comparisons

Fukushima's 帰還困難区域 (Kikan Konnan Kuiki), or "Difficult to Return Area", is defined as having an annual cumulative radiation dose of 50+ mSv, and 20+ mSv after five years.

Fukushima is currently at 4.886 μSv/h as of 1 hour ago and was at 5.656 μSv/h as of 7 months ago, so not going down by much at all

So this is how you welcome softball back to the Olympics?

The UK dosage is 2.7 millisieverts a year. There are 8760 hours in a year. Divide, and the units of year cancel out and you're left with units in hours. Thus 0.000308 millisieverts an hour, or 0.308 μSv/h versus 4.886 μSv/h in Fukushima as of this moment.

So divide that out and I get 15.864 times hotter than the UK figure

Is the city of Fukushima expecting fans to travel to a radiation zone ~16 times hotter than the regular background radiation?

Say no to Fukushima Olympics!

Baseball, Softball, and Karate are one-time events just for the Tokyo Olympics.

They will not be repeated in the Paris Olympics. Surfing is unlikely to return as well.

Only skateboard and sports climbing are expected to return in 2024, along with e-Sports.
