Abe leaves for Bali to attend APEC summit

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Sunday headed to Bali in Indonesia to take part in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC summit) on Monday and Tuesday.

Government officials said Abe will have a brief meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the summit on Monday afternoon, Sankei Shimbun reported.

After the APEC summit, Abe will then move onto Brunei for the two-day summit of ASEAN leaders, and return home on Thursday night.
