Nissan can try to leave, as Renault owns too much stock and has seats on the board of Nissan and not the other way around. Dont be surprised if Renault tries buying up more stock to, in effect, take control of Nissan too!

BTW they own Ghosen a huge debt of thanks for pulling their cojones out of the fire. They thanked him by back-stabbing him!

The only way to settle this problem is for Renault to acquire remaining 7% stake, gain a majority voting, then clean the house at Nissan by removing Saikawa and his cronies.

Renault will need to give some for Nissan to want to continue the alliance.

It is after all an 'Alliance' - which can be dissolved - at a loss - but it's not cemented .

Its shameful that Mr Ghosn has received treatment more normally applied to a mafia boss, but that does not mean Renault will give up on Nissan's management, for the sake of the workers the alliance must continue.

Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi should have read 'The Life and Death of Joint Venture' which deals with what happens years after a merger or joint venture, when the initial fervour has died down. It discusses when one partner has outgrown the other, internal dynamics, changes in management, executives or family owners, a wish to dissolve, or to alter the terms of the JV. Recommended reading!

Not a word uttered about ghosn and his situation. If this had been a dispute with an american citizen i'm willing to bet trump would be raging to japan about this with serious consequences.

Well, this just proves that both Abe and Macron are complicit in Ghosn's arrest, wonder what's the deal, why do they want Ghosn out of the way.

I'm sure it's Macron who asked a phone talks.  Macron shouldn't interfere so much into private company business. 

According to French law, long time shareholders are twice the share, so 15% French share of Renault becomes 30%.  Nissan's share of Renault should be also 30%, not 15%, which cancels Renault's voting rights in Nissan.

Hope & reality is different. Nothing will go smoothly for a company that have bad Japanese management. I for one will not support Nissan anymore. No words will help Nissan back-handed & under hand image. 5 Or 20 years later, history will repeat itself. People who cannot negociate and use underhand methods are not worth anything. This case is worst than anything, I have seen before. Really a black-mail in action. Plus Nissan destroyed a man's life, this actions says a lot about Nissan & gang.
