Gotta love that title - Skill for surviving scandal.
The skill is just circle the wagons and deny, deny, deny.
Eventually the Weak media just tones down it's lukewarm attacks and the Weakened opposition just gives up.
And if those outside the inner circle of wagons dares to think they can speak up - well good ol' Sontaku comes into play and any semblance of a contrary opinion is quashed.
The only skill for surviving repeated scandals that Abe posseses is the skill in maintaining his(LDP) Bully Network.
The sum total of all his known scandals would have seen him long gone in most major democracies.

Lol this is the best propaganda piece they could come up with? He's good at being corrupt? Ok.

Only by you.

He has "championed" failure on so many fronts that it boggles the mind! His "urges" make me think he has chronic diarrhea!
Not to mention that his version of "currying favor" a.k.a. kissing-arse, shows as well that he is insecure in his own skin.
Consider the fact that if "he" were the "powerful leader" they would be coming to him and not the other way around!
Just who has come to Abe?
towingtheline
Three undeniable and negative things he has done:
1 - Lowered corporate tax - helping his buddies
2 - Raised consumption tax twice - affecting the low income families the most
3 - Massively increased the amount of public debt - making the fiscal situation much worse for many years to come, long after he and all his 'fat cat' buddies retire.

Abe is not a leader. He's void of creativity. He's bridled by his Nippon Kaigi friends. Power lies there. Where are his successes? His 3 arrows? He may be the longest survivor but what's his productivity : survivability ratio? We're still waiting to come out of the dark ages when it comes to truth & productivity.

He has been in office since 2012, and it has taken him nearly 8 years to FINALLY do something about the problems that parents have with childcare issues. (The recent consumption tax increase)
I suppose we should expect another 8 years before he finally gets around to actually doing something about women's issues! (yeah right I aint holding my breath!)
This article is supposed to be about Abe's accomplishments (none really) and is actually showing what a failure he has been AND about the failure of Japanese politics as well! People have no viable options, and that is ALL due to the LDP and their grip on power here!

ie butt kissing
because when you are a racist nationalist, you can always fall back on nationalist issues.
which he took straight out of the playbook of Reagan- Reaganomics...
Aly Rustom
nothing shocking about it since he went to bed with Nippon Kaigi, the movers and the shakers of the country.
a pledge he hasn't fulfilled
massive monetary easing- has been the policy of EVERY administration since the bubble collapse in 1990. Abe is no maverick here.
red-tape cutting -- where exactly has the red tape been cut????
towingtheline
Length in office is a useless vanity metric.
What I would like to know is this:
Name 5, just 5 things Abe has implemented that have proven to improve the welfare of the nation and people of Japan...

"Political heir with skill for surviving scandal"
This title means all about his family and his ancestors?
Aly Rustom
Exactly!
rcch
is this some kind of propaganda ?
what you need to know . . . right there .

what Japan needs is a whole new generation of exciting and talented young politicians ...
rcch
what Japan needs is a whole new generation of exciting and talented young politicians ... in other words, new blood. someone that ,ll run against Abe and not with him ... and by new generation i mean that Japan still thinks like an old person ...

Each time people talk about Abe and Trump I remember some manga I rode quite some time ago. I think it was some Gegege no kitaro one. You saw some Japanese dude praising American dude about the fact that they have a big dick and then managing to get what they want out of them. I kind of fell like Abe is going for this kind of diplomatic using Trump narcissism. But in the end if in the manga that was effective, I do not think in reality that is. It is the second time recently that I rode than Abe has got such a good relationship with Trump but I do not remember Trump showing any sign of respect for Abe or even doing anything for Abe. Except if you count the : we will abandon you so you have to stop being pacifist and give us a full lot of money crap.
I will not say he is a bad leader of state taking in account the worldwide situation but I do not think he is a good one regarding the Constitution and its enforcement to say the lest.
Ganbare Japan!
The media, tiny opposition parties, and those on the left severely underestimated PM Abe, fools. He is called "The streetfighter from Yamaguchi" for good reason. Tough as nail.
5 more years! 5 more years!
