I would love to be a fly on the wall and listen in on the conversations that these two will be having! I wonder if Abe is even going to hint at the brewing scandal in the US regarding the recent elections.

Putin told Japanese media on Tuesday that there is no territorial issue between Russia and Japan over the four islands. Here's a quote from Xinhua : "We believe we have no territorial problems at all. It is only Japan that believes it has territorial problems with Russia. We are ready to talk about this," Putin said.

I seriously doubt he would dare.

“I think we were able to have frank and deep discussions about free travel by former island residents, economic activities on the four islands under a special system of both countries, and the peace treaty issue.”
Key words: "I think". Key missing words, "Japanese sovereignty", the latter of which Abe vowed. Now, I know an Abe Vow isn't worth a squirt, but if he thinks accomplishing anything less than getting all four islands back after promising time and again that's what he'd do he's a fool, or the people nothing but sheeple if they accept it. THe people may be able to head back to the barren islands for a short trip to do nothing besides say theyve been there, but I've no doubt it'll still mean arrest if they try to say the islands are theirs.

It is very good if 2 sides decided to co-work.

Okinawans who take hard attitude to U.S. Forces on Okinawa. Remind how hard it is to deal with Russia that stole our northern islands breaking Japan-Russia Nonagression Agreement right before the Japan's surrender. While America has been very generous to occupied Japan. I understand the feelings of Okinawans too. U.S. Forces on Okinawa are not stationing there to protect Okinawa but to protect entire Japan. It is not fair that they have to shoulder all the burdens.

It seems Mr Abe has more concerns over Syrian refugees rather than those refugees of Fukushima crisis
