Abe seeks Party of Hope's support for proposed constitutional revision

Am I the only one who thinks the LDP/Hope alliance has been a hiding in plain sight?

If anything Koike is possibly more hawkish than Abe.

I was just thinking last night, what if this new party by Koike is a ploy to further weaken the left, form another right leaning party, and then after the election join forces with the LDP and have a super majority, that can and will be able to pass any legislation they want to?

Maybe I wan't following the news carefully, but I did not think that Koike was so right wing. I know, she is a member of Nippon no Kaigi, but I thought that everybody who wanted to get ahead had to join them. But now, seeing how they are culling those members from Minshinto who don't agree with their right wing ideology, it is a little scary.

It is all about remilitarization of Japan. People don't believe anymore that the US can actually protect us (they haven't won a war since they beat us in WWII), so we have to do it ourselves. And save a lot of money on those US bases in Japan.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking too. And now seeing how Abe and Koike might be forming an alliance, I'm becoming more and more alarmed every day.

Nice name. Is that the best they can do? I HOPE their policies and actions will be better than their name. Only time will tell.

one if the the funniest things he’s ever said! In any case, I guarantee it’s only a matter of time before these two parties join into one, or at least form a coalition. They are almost exactly the same, and Abe’s already starting the “we might not beat them, so let’s ask them to join”.

There woild then be zero opposition to anything.

I think there might be LD P plan to make Koike's party to replace 'Komeiito' as its. sister party.

This is not about party or parties. This is about people, about nation, about peace. Abe still doesn't get it. Pitiful.

Let us just get over with it, and just merge! Together you guys will ruin Japan's political diversity and democratic atmosphere! A one state-party will emerge, and Nippon Kaigi is set to control all of Japanese politics if either Party of Hope or LDP gets a majority in this election!

There's more at stake than adding a simple sentence that justifies Japan's military, which by the way is already justified by NATO and the world society!

Wouldn't it be ironic if Koike's party Hope and the LDP join forces and force out Komeito as the junior partner, when it was Komeito's support for Koike in the Tokyo elections that helped, propel her to power and national prominence!

Abe lies again. He has called the election solely in order to avoid "carefully explaining" his crooked activities. He refuses to tell the truth and refuses to be held to account.

"We cannot bring economic policies or diplomacy to a standstill," he said.

What does a tax rise have to do with diplomacy? Abe should explain why he intends to fritter away the tax increase through increased spending that benefits his mates, instead of reducing the deficit as originally proposed. I'd prefer to keep the money myself and choose how to spend it, rather than have a sweaty, crumple-faced crook decide for me.

There he goes again. With his economical reforms which have already proven not sufficient enough! He's promising fiscal reforms, but will rather focus on enacting tougher security reforms rather than putting an all out effort to recover Japan's economy when in power.

Haven't we seen the same pattern before, peoples!? The Abe-LDP will never understand from the population that "enough is enough"! More than just a change in prime minister is needed, the whole country need a more diversified government which represents different aspects of the population rather than the arrogant-turned LDP!

Both parties are conservative.. They may create the coalition gov't. Abe will be PM for next four more years.
