Abe san...do your homework before you committ tax payers money to aid others. You can't even get the government to help your own people here. Besides, African countries have a long history of tribe disputes over land, oil and mineral resources. Japan's aid will fall in the wrong hands, sadly generating more famine and deaths.

rsgz4gg7y2Jan. 12, 2014 - 05:51AM JST Japan owes China 50 years of national GDP in terms of material damages (not counting human cost), according to some historical estimates. China was stupid to give up the retribution claim in the 1970s, in order to open a relationship with Japan.

Thank you for proving my point, this entire row that the PRC is starting is just about money. The PRC wants more and it will try and take what it can via extortionist tactics.

Remember the harder you push the further from the center Japan moves.

Now, using your irrational comments, Mao and the CPC owe the Chinese people 500 years worth of GDP.

Mao and his gang murdered more Chinese and destroyed more of their own nation than the Imperial Japan, Britain, France United States and the KMT combined.

@arama humanitarian aid is not given without some conditions, normally the aid will help the countries involved but J companies must be used to administer the aid, so much of the money ends back in Japan and the companies involved get a presence or bigger presence it the country they are helping. same with most countries that offer the aid. China is now a big provider of aid in Africa also

Africa does not need aid. What it needs is good and fair business/trade. If this is done, Africa will be lending money to struggling countries such as Japan in the very near future..

Good move from Prime Minister Abe. Waste of money would be by giving money to China who uses the money to invest on her own army.

Japan owes China 50 years of national GDP in terms of material damages (not counting human cost), according to some historical estimates. China was stupid to give up the retribution claim in the 1970s, in order to open a relationship with Japan.

The Japanese today certainly do not feel thankful for that, most of them don't even know about it, and the relationship so purchased has now turned to animosity instead.

It's a lesson we already know from everyday life: never use money to relationship. It does not work. In fact it will bite you later.
