Abe wants to stage 2020 Robot Olympics

Robots are the future, I think many people can't argue against it. There are endless applications.

It appears that " 2020 " has become the Abracadabra magic word for Shinzo Abe. Note that when too much hope is being piled on one spot it inconceivably crashes and sinks.

Is he going to be a contestant?

japan4life: lol They could line up some the many overworked salarymen here and take gold without building a thing. Japan is good at making robots, though. They're very into it.

So Abe wants to actually win some medals, then?

It's best for Japan to start supporting their local robotics companies unless they want Google to rule the world of robotics in their own country.

yep robots will take up all the repetative jobs and the J housewives will take up the rest of the low paid labor. dont see how Abe going to get companies to raise wages when they dont really need to.

Robots already took over repetitive jobs in USA. Different types. Some factories have more robot operators than human beings. Science channel has "How it is made" series every day. Candy ingredient mixing robot to wrappers, etc. Of cause commenter is a person but different looking robot arms and machines, Then human look like robot cleaning up after crime scenes, Many works where people can not do well.
