The photograph doesn’t really correspond well to the writing. They are holding up change.org transparent posters against hate speech. It’s like demanding a red apple but loudly shouting and holding up a poster of a yellow banana. lol

the about 10 participants in the rally

Sad, truly sad, particularly when women make comments like Sugita did about other women. OK she isnt "wrong" but she has her head in the sand if she thinks her comments dont make things worse, particularly for women who have been victims of assaults, and are fearful of reporting them!

Her comments make these women I referred to here, victims at least twice over! Shame on her!

I think this is the link we need.

Interesting woman. She does not care reactions to what she speaks unlike most Japanese people who do not speak truth in care of reactions of others.

"Sugita, who has been elected to the lower house twice under the proportional representation system"

The problem is that she has not been elected, she was simply given her seat by the party under the proportional representation system. The only time she took part in an election in 2014 she received the fewest votes of any candidate.

Actually, women sometimes falsely claim to be victims of sex crimes. That's why in the west you can't even compliment a woman anymore on her new haircut coz right there, bang. Sexual harassment lawsuit. I myself had a situation in my twenties where next day after consensual sex, not even alcohol involved, she felt regret (I guess) coz she went to her roommate to say that I raped her. To then (felt regret again, I guess?) say it was totally consensual. Will I get labeled as a bigot misogynist by for saying that women sometimes indeed cry wolf?

People need to grow a thicker skin.

And how many of those lawsuits were in favor of the woman who was sexually assaulted by a comment on her haircut?

An anecdote about a sexual encounter one night in your twenties doth cut no mustard.

“3.4 percent of married men in Japan have been raped by their wives. And that is down from 4.3 percent reported 11 ago.” – Japan’s Cabinet Office

The problem here is Japan’s very loose definition of violence, which according to the Cabinet Office includes ignoring a person for what the victim considers to be too long a time. These numbers are precontrived to be high.

I’ve reread this post several times and I’m still no closer to understanding why it exists. Is this what they call 4D chess trolling?

Nobody really thinks like this, right? Right?

Sorry ladies, protest all you want the old men ain't listening. Might as well get the cat to call the compliant number where you are on hold for 5 mins and then disconnected. Does as much good.

Fact: women sometimes falsely claim to be victims of sex crimes.

Read several articles here on JT over the years of just that; a young woman falsely claimed to have been touched/groped on a train impugning an innocent man.

Also Fact: there are far too many /much more cases of actual molestation mostly by males.

Fact: women sometimes falsely claim to be victims of sex crimes.

Nobody is disputing that.

Why do you need to repeat it every time there is an article defending victims of sex crimes?

Also Fact: there are far too many /much more cases of actual molestation mostly by males.

You’ll have to clarify that because grammatically it’s not helping your stance and doesn’t make much (many?) sense.

This movement needs to get squashed down. The GOJ knows what is best for the nation.

Eventually politicians are going to learn how to express themselves better, and maybe a couple of decades later they will learn to think according to the times,

hopefully.

Sugita is a woman Trump of Japan. As Trump has many strong fans of him in the states, Sugita has many fans within LDP. Sugita said LGBT people do not marry. They are "unproductive." They do not deserve tax money to support. Me-too is a witch hunt. About "comfort women," she said they were prostitutes. They did not become "comfort women" forcefully by the imperial army. About the case of Ito Shiori, Sugita said there was an apparent fault on her side too suggesting there was a "honey trap." Sugita could become a member of the lower house in proportional representation system. LDP placed her at the top of the selection in her local election district. Abe liked her stance and pushed.

What was her intention of making such a comment.???.

An anecdote about a sexual encounter one night in your twenties doth cut no mustard.

Actually it’s a perfect example of what Sugita was saying. Women, like men, sometimes falsely accuse others of crimes. That is just the way it is - sad but true. The delusional assertion that such comments are akin to another incidence of rape is not at all in touch with reality. Think about that - like being raped again? No - not even close.

"Her statement has resulted in the 'second rape' of victims of sexual violence and constitutes sexual discrimination. It is also considered hate speech that could hamper efforts to eliminate sexual violence," the Flower Demo organizers said in a protest statement.

This is quite the melodramatic exaggeration.

"women are able to tell lies as much as they want."

Yes indeed, Just ask all the male Victims who lost everything due to Falls claims by female scammers.

Men tell lies too, but sadly in most cases no one believes them.

"I am sorry for offending people by giving an impression that only women lie when lying is not restricted to one gender," she wrote, drawing further attacks from critics who said her apology was hollow.

Lame excuse. And its easy to see how the LDP can gloss over the comfort women issue when they won't even respect their own women.

Disgusting.

Links, please, to these "several articles" about all the women have falsely and deliberately accused men that it is a real problem.

Suggesting that false accusations are a regular problem doesn't make what you say "sad but true" at all, not one iota.

Just ask all the male Victims who lost everything due to Falls claims by female scammers.

OK. Where are they?

Men tell lies too, but sadly in most cases no one believes them.

Yes, this is true. They say things like, "That woman accused me of raping her but I didn't".

Links, please, to these "several articles" about all the women have falsely and deliberately accused men that it is a real problem.

You've got Google's search engine at your fingertips. You could find them easily.

OK. Where are they?

Most likely jobless, trying to come up with money for lawyers or held at a koban for 3 weeks without access to a lawyer.

Yes, this is true. They say things like, "That woman accused me of raping her but I didn't".

You always paint women as innocent, angelical beings with absolutely zero malice, and men as awful vile creatures. But guess what? Women are just as human as men. Both genders are capable of good and bad.
