I'm an alien.

I'm a legal alien.

I'm an American living in Japan.

I believe that there is probably intelligent life out there in the universe somewhere. It is statistically improbable that we are alone. In the billions of years in which life could have exidted, whole civilisations may have risen and falken.

However, they are probably so far away that they have no way of getting to earth and humanity might be extinct before they even work out we are.

Alien spaceships have never entered Japanese airspace

I'm not so sure about that. I mean have you seen some of the characters riding the subways late at night?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Wasn't it Isaac Assimov who once said." If there really is intelligent life out there, we should be rather afraid. History has shown over and over again that the invaders would show little to no respect for the natives." As said above, UFO capable of reaching our earth would mean a far superior technology then ours. Than again maybe, just maybe, they never needed to develop weapons.

We have actually got the message from outer space. It is 187.5. No one knows what it actually means.

In 1986, one of the best documented airplane UFO encounters took place. A cargo flight on Japan Airlines, JAL 1628, a 747, was delivering a load from Paris to Tokyo. UFO reports made by pilots are considered some of the best because of their training and recognition of various flying craft. Flying near Alaska, after initially sighting the lights, when without a warning, two craft the size of aircraft carrier of unknown origin stopped ahead of the 1628. They were one above the other, and were shooting lights. The interior of the 747 cockpit was so brightly lit, the crew could feel warmth on their skin. How did they make such an amazing, rapid move from their position to one in front of the 1628 and later, the craft changed positions to a side by side formation.

so you mean Japan is surrounded by aliens, aliens from the earth and aliens from the space, you mean space Gaijin. so the next time i go out in japan a person can ask me " I know you are an alien/Gaijin but where are you from? space or earth"

I am wondering why he was visiting? perhaps he was looking for Olympics preparations,Sakura festival,no he was analyzing Abe performance. since we have no idea so we should send a formal complaint, we have already issues over airspace with our earth neighbors i mean earth aliens.

oh no another big issue, was he a man or woman? just an alien/gaijin and this is enough.

Does this mean all those anime are not real?!

"little green men" - a silly attempt at humour?

That's what I thought too. I question Inoki's judgement to bring up such a topic so publicly (time and a place...), but I also question the proffessionalism of whoever wrote this article, as the term "little green men" was surely added by the writer. Is this an editorial?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

BTW: the UFO means unidentified flying object point is rather weak. When Nakatani says UFO, he means Little Green Men.

Acronyms can take a meaning beyond their literal etymology. I mean, look at the LDP. Its neither liberal, democratic, nor a party.

They probably did invade but weren't allowed in the local night club and so headed off to greener pastures.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Oh, yes they have.

And they are cats.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

If we are being visited, I wonder what they must think of us? They probably view us the same way kids view frogs before dissecting them in 7th grade biology class.

takes off her tinfoil hat So glad to hear this place is safe.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

LOL! What's this for?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

A few too many hits to the head for Inoki, or maybe it just gave him a sense of humour.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

UFO equals "unidentified flying object". That means precisely what it says. Many things have been seen flying by a great many people and we still don't what they are or were. Some things were later identified and some things weren't.

I cannot tell you if some things were in fact identified as being extra-terrestial craft. If anyone in the government or military could, they certainly would not tell us, just like they don't tell us a whole bunch of things in our sham democracies.

Nakatani: "These are not the aliens you are looking for."

Inoki: "These are not the aliens I am looking for."

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

someone had to one to many shouchu on their Hanami Ufo Watching!!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Regardless, most UFOs seen around the world are non-terrestrial. Human civilization doesn't have to be "up there" to be observed by extra-terrestrial life forms. We ourselves study "lower" lifeforms on our own planet.

We should just be happy that all we've been getting is just "fly-bys" and no information about any aggressive alien contacts. Probably was improved by the Voyager mission.

Not like any of our defense forces can do much if a species capable of creating such spacecraft decide to drop by.

Is this a late April's fool? Or did this really happen?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If the aliens had the opportunity to make first contact with humanity after studying us for some time. I doubt they would visit Japan first.

NeoJamal -- you beat me to it. Hell the langauge alone, especially learning kanji, would be enough to take Japan off the list. But, on the positive side, there are a lot of otaku they could probably hook up with.

Come to think of it, aliens on another planet may be debating about the same problem in the Diet. Yes, they may consider that we're another form of creatures from a different planet; that is another form of "aliens."

UFO may come in invisible or glowing wave form and it would first attack by sucking all power grid to get energy to transform back into matter and then it would make useless all electronic devices making Japan medieval like country in just few hours. Cross finger and pray UFO never find Earth.

Inoki is proving more and more to be a huge idiot. As if going to NK wasn't enough. As or aliens having visited Japan, didn't the Hatoyamas have a personal run in and travel on one? Just the wife?

UFOs haven't invaded Japan, defense minister tells Diet

But of course, that is exactly what they WOULD say, isn't it.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

I believe Japan was assimilated by aliens long ago...

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I guess most North Korean planes look like UFO from the 60s

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I thought it was April Fools yesterday !!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

What if aliens don't have fingerprints?? What are the powers that be going to do?? All aliens are considered criminals in Japan after all.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

They're all UFO's until they become identified.

Pilots stopped reporting decades ago when the shareholders took over the world. The 1986 JAL pilot was one of the last to step over the line. He was quickly given a desk job.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Hope they pick up their alien cards if they decide to stay longer than 3 months!

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Pilots also don't always report sightings as they can sometimes lose their job..http://ufo-case-review-japan-airlines-flight-1628-1986.webeden.co.uk/

Inoki said he did not know whether or not aliens existed, but he had once seen a mysterious flying object rocket into the air on the horizon and disappear.

Mix some more water with it next time Inoki-san !

4 ( +4 / -0 )

if they had the technology to reach earth there intelligence would far exceed ours

Their English too, it seems.

Years ago I had a Japanese student from Hokkaido who claimed that a saucer-shaped UFO hovered over his home. He said he was home alone when a strange vibration shook the place. He said he went to the window, looked up and saw the UFO hovering overhead. He said he was not dreaming.

True or not, this is what he said. And his description of the mysterious object was quite believing.

Around this time it was reported that other people in Hokkaido claimed to have seen UFOs in the vicinity.

Don't know if you believe this or not ... but anyway, this is what the guy said and what was reported about Hokkaido ...

'Nakatani, a sober politician with a reputation for thorough understanding of his brief'

Now we are in the territory of the completely unbelievable.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This is debatable - lots of things in Japan seem very "different planet" sometimes.

UFOs haven't invaded Japan, defense minister tells Diet

No, but perhaps the diet building

April fools or the government has already been supplanted by aliens?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The aliens probably afraid of their UFO getting hit by one of Abe's arrows.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

"There are, without a doubt, UFOs. Whether any of them are any more alien than I am is another issue." on point! ...move it over to Japan to see: http://www.ufostalker.com/?mufon=true

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Not sure why many assume UFOs would mean "aliens" from a far away planet.

There is no question millions have seen "something" and thousands of those have experienced something other than "human". That's a given at this point... to claim otherwise screams a simple, cold closed mindedness coupled with speaking with certainty despite true research into the matter.

What if they are time travelers or perhaps beings who come from the same point in space we do, only the next dimensional "channel" over from our own. And never liked the "if they are so advanced, why don't they land and explain themselves to us" line... as the man said in Mothman: "you are more advanced than a cockroach, every try to explain yourself to one of them?"

Are we not beings living on a planet in the middle of space?

What a lie former PM Hatayama's wife claims to have been abducted by aliens and taken to mars where she meet Tom cruise.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

man seriously, just shows you the IQ of some people for even asking such a stupid question. 1. yes aliens probably do exist somewhere else in the galaxy, if they had the technology to reach earth there intelligence would far exceed ours. why would they waste there time getting here just to study an inferior species. much more interesting places in the universe than earth. 2. even if they did take the time to show up why would governments want to panic the population by saying they did exist. religious/cultural beliefs would be turned unside down. (except if your from Scientolgy)
