What happened in Marioupol, would happen on a grander scale in Tokyo, from a NK launch on Tokyo, with 100 of thousands of people dead or injured in an first strike on Tokyo by the NK or China Google NK Attack Tokyo Scenario

It is all very well to increase military spending (JGov's favourite reponse).

The problem is that the Japanese themselves, the public in general, just baulk at the thought of military service in defense of their own country.

Once again what was becoming under Moon a de-escalation of the LIE that is Bukhan in the Western mind is revived with the election of yet another corrupt U.S. PUPPET to the Hanguk presidency. The one thing I am learning in my new found interest in 'in-country' highly rated Korean drama is that, apparently, the People of Hanguk have NO TRUST in either their government or their police because public corruption, especially the presidency, has either been the major plot point or incidental to the plot in every one of a dozen or so I have followed. And two were directly and outspokenly critical of below the board rightwing conspiracies to sour relations between the People of Bukhan and Hanguk. What to take from 'drama'? Does 'popularity' equal 'popular credibility' by the people who know their own country best? That is a question for anyone who studies the behaviors of eusocial apes... and not so much for those who believe everything they are told by demonstrated liars.

The idea of a small, resource scare country of twenty-five million souls attacking a militaristic, highly aggressive and H-bomb backed country FIVE TIMES ITS SIZE is an idea no doubt defined somewhere in the DSM-V. Not to be critical of another's opinion but...WHAT? Ah, jeez...

It looks like the hawks are going to run things for the foreseeable future.

Thanks, Mr. Putin and Mr. Kim, you've made your mark on history.

"It looks like the hawks are going to run things for the foreseeable future."

When have they, in the entirety of known Human history, NOT?

Without the USA to change its diapers the south Korean deterrence is humorous.

Why do they need a show of force to North Korea ?

Kind of ridiculous !

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

Kishida really wants to increase the military spending, the Korean actions are just convenient but not really important for this.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Former NATO secretary general Mr. Anders Rasmussen stated last week during an interview with SKY news that ""History tought us that we should never appease a dictator or an authoritarian, it will only embolden them and the only way to deal with them is through STRENGTH and UNITY""

Putin and Kim are no different than any other past and current dictators, and we have already seen the results of Appeasements in both the Ukraine and with NK.

Or sarky comments either...

The Japan government have been banging on for years about increasing military expenditure- All seems a little late to be planning to arm up, in this day and age. If it was going to be done, it should've been done decades ago, when a modicum of secrecy was possible.

Even NK can't keep their ambitions undercover, hence the increase in petulant actions. Japan would have to do it with the world (read: China and co.) watching. That sounds like no problem at all...

The USA definitely is not saving the world.

The USA might not be saving the world, but I guarantee if there were no USA, the world be far worse off than it is now.

Question: ‘Seen’, by whom?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

provocations, provocations.

Countries with no military backbone always provoke those military powerhouse. is it because they have a strong military powerhouse country that can back them up? but not thinking the outcome their "own" country might become. yes you do have someone at your back. but what will happen to your own backyard? a warfield.

you might won at the end. but... what are the cost?

provocations, provocations.

Complete nonsense, NK launch sites and military capability could be neutralised instantly by the allies similar to Iraq

If Japan were smart they would get on board and come to the realization that if they do not attempt to defend themselves, other stronger nations like China will use this to their advantage to annihilate them.

Furthermore, WW2 was more than 70 years ago and we all live in a different world today, one in which Japan needs to stand up and fight for itself instead of relying on other countries to defend them.

If this means changing their Constitution to allow them to do so then I believe it to be high time for a referendum.

Fat boy throws his toys around in an effort to leverage some political or economic advantage. If all he gets for his trouble is pushback and loss of whatever he has already gained even he will eventually give up if it’s counter productive.
