APEC leaders call for solidarity to fight terrorism

Daesh jubilant.

Exactly. If we really want to fight terrorism we have to drain the swamp of hatred that allows it to prosper. Fighting terrorism militarily is like fighting fire with fire. We've tried that for the past 15 years and it hasn't worked. The definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over again and again and expecting different results. Violence hasn't worked. If anything it serves their narritave. Daesh would salivate for a clash between Islam and the west. What we need to do is stop making muslims feel that Daesh is their only option. We have to find a way to break the cycle of hatred and violence. Otherwise, it will be never ending

Violence hasn't worked. and how do your propose to deal with ISIS, give in to the demands and let them have there Islamic state, be nice to them. these scum thrive on violence and killing its part of who they are, they prefer to die killing outsiders than negotiate. No the only way is to exterminate these roaches, itll take time but the world will be better off without these vermin

Like blowing out a house fire: giving them more oxygen, that's all.

Putin coming out today with:

To forgive the terrorists is up to God, but to send them to him is up to me

Looks like it's up to Russia to 'get the job done'. None of these other Coalition leaders have the cajones to take real action.

On a fair note, why are the developed nations watching from the terraces as these gangs continue to terrorize the world? A reality check in Mosul (Iraq) and Baidoa here in neighbouring Somalia concerning the sharia rules imposed on the public will be a wake up call that there is an elephant in the room. The more we turn a blind eye on this vice claiming we are not directly affected, the more it will spread. It has spilled over it's deadly acts to sovereign countries and should be nibbed on the bud before it becomes a global disaster.

Before you can crush terrorism, you need to crush the oil companies.

The only reason western powers have this much interest in the Middle East is oil. To eliminate reliance on dirty, non-renewable fossil fuel, you need to steamroll over the oil companies. They are putting up every roadblock they can think of, to stall the development of clean and alternative energy.

You said that. I didn't. What you are proposing will send even more people their way

No the only way is to exterminate these roaches

Ironically, if you tried to do that, you would be giving in to their demands. A holy war is EXACTLY what they want. Don't give it to them.

Does this also include Israel as a terrorist state or do they get off free?

Hear, hear. And don't forget the other corporate interests. This from Smedley "War is a Racket" Butler

I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-12. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras "right" for American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.... Looking back on it, I felt I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three city districts. We Marines operated on three continents.
