Aso asks voters to stick with LDP because it has produced results

The problem is not that is has produced results. The problem is the results it has produced.

Wouldn't think the " stick with LDP because it has produced results " line could be believed by the majority of Japanese. It's a joke, right? Hold on. This is Japanese politics we are talking about. They haven't tossed them out since the economy went bad.

Yes, results.....very bad results!

Cannot believe Aso is running on raising taxes in 2011. When Hashimoto raised the comsumption tax the LDP was hammered. Now the LDP is proposing this as part of a campaign?

The "results" are that all their cronies could stay in politics all these years even though they look like they should have retired ages ago. And boy do they look like it! Phew!

Shame he say anything about positive results....

"Results" Ok.... Doing nothing is a result. Doing wrong is a result. So just what results is the smirking Aso talking about?

And now trying to play the fear card from their American friend's playbook and raising defence and N.Korea.

Desperation reigns in the halls of our LDP friends. And is only overshadowed by their continued cluelessness over what people in Japan think, feel and need from their leaders.

Time to pack your bags Aso.

Hahaha.... yeah, they've produced 'results'. Good one.

We had soem real fun yesterday beating up the local LDP cavassers about their party's 'new policy' of fingerprinting foreign born registered residents at entry ports.

I might not have a vote but the rest of the household certainly does! Time these guys were thrown out.

This is a sick joke, right? He can't be serious, can he? He must be getting desperate if this is the best he can come up with.

Aso should be campaigning on his haircut, versus Hatoyama's haircut. Hatoyama is a moron as well, but on haircuts I think Aso has his nose infront.

I reckon the "Japan Communist Party" should rename themselves, as their stupid "Communist" name puts people off before even listening to them. Unless of course thei manifesto proclaims renouncing democratic elections and instating their front man as Supreme Leader (but surely it doesn't!?).

It's nice to see everyone agreeing on something. Of course Aso is stupid and evil as the media here keeps telling us. Brainwashed? Who? Us?

We all know the media are biased. But the man in the street cannot form an opinion of his own, so he becomes just a sheep following the herd. It's now IN to bash the LDP and its leader. It's a sorry state, also because infighting in the LDP is something that reduces the credibility of the party. Still this party has more to offer than the main opposition which has only vague promises and not even an outline on how to accomplish things. Indecisiveness and abstaining in voting in a major election has caused the current state of affairs. The electorate itself is largely to blame for all the things they complain about. So this time cast your votes everyone and share in the responsibility.

I think that also describes the LDP's manifesto pretty well. As for what the LDP has to offer, seeing as they haven't managed to fulfill much more than half of their 2005 pledges, I'm not confident they can follow through on whatever they're promising this time.

They've just trippled my health insurance at a guess based on last years salary where I was employed. I guess they will miss out on future tax revenues from me as enough is enough - I'm out of here!

LDP has trashed this country for years looking after the old farts in power. I really pity any Japanese unemployed here - at least I can get out of here. When I went to the tax office last week they ended up saying I should be a politician in Japan as I made so much sense - but I can't even vote!

Will the DPJ be any better? Probably not - they are after all mostly ex-LDP as far as I can tell.

Both sets of morons will fail to make any meaningful changes. Country will just keep doing what it has been for the last 40 years.

I don't know if I would buy all of this "LDP hasn't managed to achieve their manifesto" rhetoric. With the DPJ in control of the upper house and willing to pettily oppose anything it's not like LDP have had an open paddock of grass all to themselves.

I had hopes for Yoshimi Watanabe's party until he named it "Minna no tou" (Everyone's Party). Ridiculous. Why not name yourself after your principles or something? (No principles actually, I come to suspect.)

Its impossible for someone sober to make a comment like this... Can we get a search warrant issued to check his house out for any drugs also? this may explain the last 12months.

Definition of "results" onegai shimaaasu ?

What and Aso! Every time he opens his mouth, he talks crap! To say that the Opposition have not proved themselves is the stupidest remark he has made to date. Duhhhh. Thats because they havent had a chance, Aso!
