2% Been the goal for years! There is always an excuse. I'd like to ask why cant you actually do it? Certainly you can print money but make policies that benefit society seems just too much for your pee sized brain. 3rd biggest economy in the world how is he going to sell it when it's the 4th, 5th economy in the world. I would suggest an evening on the Internet. Because your education is woefully inadequate.

The central bank's stated goal remains two-percent inflation
I don't agree with that. People whose income has stayed the same or gone down, and there's a lot of them, don't need everything costing 2% more.

"Well, this policy didn't work last year, or the year before, or in any of the previous five years"
"Better keep at it then, eh?"

The Japanese economy has been bubbling for a long time now. The Government has an incredible amount of growing debt and cannot find any production to help offset it. Meanwhile, Japanese companies have been reaping many of the benefits of the Government costly moves that will ultimately hit hardest against the Government and the people. The debt crisis in Japan far outweighs what happened in Greece and we saw what happened when that bubble popped and how it dragged the entire EU down. While America has the worlds highest debt amount in terms of dollar, Japan has the highest debt about in terms of percentage versus production.

The economy is still better now than before, when workers routinely had their bonuses cut. People have short memories.

And people are going to continue to stash cash around their homes because they don't get any interest back for putting it in the bank.

Let's keep ignoring the blatant causes of the problems...
Ganbare Japan!
Well said, Jeff Lee. Things are much better than 5-6 years ago before Abenomics kickstarted things. If seems the media always look to put a negative spin on an economy that is ticking aling nicely. Record low unemployment, record company earnings (with resultant good bonuses), record farm exports, the list goes on.
