"They will also focus heavily on 'economic security' issues related to China, including cooperation on export controls for sensitive technologies like semiconductors."

2023 prediction: They will come out of the meaning :

"Affirming the rules-based order and opposing any effort to change the status quo by force".

Trying to get out of the country as much as possible so as not to face the public.

He wants to put pressure on Russia through the G7 and UN security council? Dang, last I heard, Japan still has stakes in Sakhalin 1. That's like threatening your landlord, are you nuts? Fumio always talks out of both sides of his mouth.

You might not like Kishida, but he at least understands where the power base is. Without America, Japan would be in a very dangerous crosshair from russia, north korea, and china.

@Zoroto

Let's put on those thinking caps. You see Zoroto, with Japan under it's full control, countries like russia, north korea, and china would be able to control the indo pacific region a bit more efficiently as well as the entire pacific ocean in terms of being a strong hold against America and Australia ~ and debatable but maybe England as well. In addition to that Zoroto, russia, north korea, and china would be able to protect their countries more effectively while at the same time, raping Japan's natural resources like undersea natural gas and other natural resources like fresh water for china. You did know that china actually bought a mountain in Japan for its spring water to sell back in china, didn't you?

@Michael Machida

I see what you're saying, but it is just way too much effort and time/ money intensive to try to conquer a country like Japan with the US being the country's best ally and security guard. It will bring fear to the rest of the world if a country were to do so, but there isn't much to gain considering there are other alternatives that may use less of your force and have much more to offer. There is a reason why hardly anyone besides the Mongolians wanted to try to conquer Japan.

If Japan were to be attacked, the pride filled citizens will not give up till the end which makes me believe this will be one of the last places to target after you have already conquered other asian countries.

Japan’s defense strategy calls for the introduction of U.S.-made Tomahawk cruise missiles

Why make these in US? If Japan shall have Tomahawks, give Japan a license to manufacture them domestically!
