doubts over a policy aimed at re-invigorating U.S. military and economic influence

I'm glad there are doubts about these things:

1) The US needs to cool out on its military activities as it's causing more conflict than peace.

2) The US should sell products that people want and not try to force them to buy stuff they don't through TPP.

So we should just become sitting ducks and let terrorism flourish becuase some country gets a temper tantrum? Come on now....

2) The US should sell products that people want and not try to force them to buy stuff they don't through TPP.

We do, from iPhones, movies, music, TV shows, food and produce and of course, military hardware.

More lies from US politicians, if their' words are to be trusted Dog PxxP can be had for breakfast.

All they want are to sell their Weapons of Death and Destruction.

Now that America has totally messed up the middle east they want to come here to see what they can totally mess up?

Given two years the world could be in another world war by their stupidity.

BTW, I am an American and know my country's government very good.

J.basher, Bertie, I really think we want to sell more than weapons. There is a lot more to our economy than the military industrial complex. Cars for example would be great if we could get a fair shake on... Of course our prices will probably still not be that competitive in some countries, but I expect what remains of Detroit's auto-industry will still see some gains. I haven't seen anything involved in the TPP that will force individuals to buy anything. Yes, supply and demand, quality of goods, prices etc will determine the success or failure of the TPP for each participant.

US foreign policy is still dominated by a pragmatic, realpolitik mentality. The US will likely rearm Japan and help start a war in Korea against China. This is WWIII.

Biden is going to haul Japan in before the war happens. The escalations in the last 2 weeks are getting serious. There's no way for either country to back down now. Japan has made China feel totally humiliated. Something surely is going to happen. US will try to mediate. But it's unlikely to make any difference. Japan may win if the war is limited to the islands, but in the long run Japan will have this giant neighbor who will feel even more humiliated. They will see this as a continuation of humiliation of Sino-Japanese war and the WW2. The region will turn into the Middle East. It's all coming. No more peace from this point on, ladies and gentlemen.
