Sigh. Can't really say that about India today under the rule of the BJP. They are becoming as authoritarian as Russia is and are edging towards genocides of Muslims and Christians. One hopes the next election cycle in India leads to a change of leadership but it is not guaranteed. India seems to be following the lead of Russia and Turkey by prosecuting political opponents as "terrorists" while turning a blind eye to true ethnic terrorism arising from among their party loyalists.
