Blinken welcoming in his Japanese and South Korean counterparts although they are in Indonesia. I'm glad he cleared up all the ambiguity surrounding US security support for ROK. /s

Diplo-speak for China. Anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together knows that NK isn't a serious threat, regardless of public rhetoric coming from governments and hyperventilating media.

NK doesn’t practice attacking any small poor heavily sanctioned countries.

What’s with the 70s shirts?!

So, these 3 nations are going to 'punish' NK.....wow, that must have Kimmy quaking in his boots.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

No. These three should be in jail... Those patterns... Hurt my eyes! It should be a crime to wear those shirts. (^^)

This article is really an excellent honey trap to bring together all of the apologists. Unfortunately they can't answer why anyone would want to be starving like the North Koreans.

I feel for ordinary North Koreans, I really do. To have lived under a totalitarian hereditary dictatorship for 75 years, which has kept them impoverished, ignorant, fearful and hungry whilst the world around them has gone ahead in light years is simply an unforgivable crime.

It's fascinating to consider what a couple of very well placed, surgical strikes might do for 26 million people in North Korea, not to mention the wider region. In all likelihood, even if they got Kim Jong Un, the ensuing chaos within the country would be enormous and cost a lot of lives. I'd love to know to what extent the US and South Korea have seriously considered it though - they must have been so tempted at various points. The longer they leave it however, and the more NK builds their ICBM arsenal, the harder it becomes.

The launch was a "grand explosion" that shook "the whole planet", the official news agency said.

It did?

I missed out then…

I would not underestimate the problems a long-range nuclear capable DPRK would cause. But, without China's cooperation, I don’t really see how we are going to prevent it. Just have to hope that China's support has its limits.

What aggression?

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

But who will defend us against the american empire's aggression??

I'm far more worried about them, than broken and shattered North Korea trying to defend itself.

They are traditional Indonesian Batik - and are World Heritage listed by UNESCO.

Please, show some some respect to other cultures.

I love Batik shirts and fabric. A very difficult process. They are a national treasure.

Yes, it does. It attacks its own people in a small, poor, heavily sanctioned country.
