Well, that saves about $300 of a trip to Brazil. Once I was at the Brazilian/Argentina border and specifically decided NOT to enter Brazil due to the Visa cost. Without that cost, I would have spent a few days in Brazil on that trip.

OTOH, https://cis.org/Report/Analyzing-New-Visa-Overstay-Report says:

About 20 percent of the 302,000 B visa overstays in 2017 were from just two countries: 33,759 from Brazil and 30,424 from Venezuela.

so I wouldn't look for the USA to change their Visa requirements. If anything, stricter requirements seem to be necessary.
