She was terrific as Ambassador. Especially on education and cultural exchange between USA and Japan. She will be missed.

While she is definitely famous in part through her name, she did quite a bit of good for the nation, including help to get the ONLY sitting president of the US in history to visit Hiroshima and make progress towards healing old wounds, in turn getting the only sitting PM of Japan to visit Pearl Harbor. I'd say even if she had done nothing else, and despite what you guys think of Obama visiting, that is a pretty big accomplishment. You think your hero Trump wouldn't have won the presidency without his name and fame (which he got from his own daddy)? She was a great ambassador really. I also like to thank the staffs of US Embassy in Tokyo who worked hard to support her mission here in Japan. In many cases very difficult tasks diplomacy-wise that they accomplished.

I hope she'd have an opportunity to visit Japan again simply to enjoy, without political and diplomatic burden. She'd be always very much welcome here with great honor.
