Why does anyone give a rat's rear end whether China adheres strictly to the tenets of Communism or not.

The CCP doesn't like the world to call them by their actual name - an oligarchy, or even a dictatorship of sorts. So they use a euphemism, Communism. This is in their best interests.

I don't want to support the CCP in whitewashing their atrocities. I'll call them out for what they are. Which is why I point out that they're not communist, when people say they are.

So it's not that I care whether China adheres to the tenets of communism. It's more that I don't like to see their party line being pushed outside China.

Why does anyone give a rat's rear end whether China adheres strictly to the tenets of Communism or not. The problem for it's people and the world is not Communism. Vietnam is communist and is not considered a problem. It is the CCP's fascist totalitarian politicies and actions and their militarism that is the issue. China replaced Communism with Nationalism as the national adhesive, making them National Socalists. I'm sure we all remember what the world called such people 75 years ago.

What does the abbreviation "CCP" mean? Every where I looked, it was "Chinese Communist Party".

What does DPRK (North Korea) mean? Everywhere I looked it's Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Are you going to call them a Democratic People's Republic just because it's in their name?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Why would you believe either of us? You can go look at the tenets of communism and compare them to the actions of China. If they are the same, China is Communist. If they are different, China is not.

What does the abbreviation "CCP" mean? Every where I looked, it was "Chinese Communist Party".

Perhaps "CPC", as used by ChinaToday, is preferred? http://www.chinatoday.com/org/cpc/ "Communist Party of China". Any real difference is lost on me.

It's dropping. More people want to live in Canada now than America

Fantastic! Does Canada want those people? Seems like that is the question to be asked.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The Chinese leadership firmly believe they are communists on the scientific path to socialist utopia.

I'm sure they do believe that.

some anonymous dude on a blog comes along and claims they are not communists notwithstanding their own claims to be so. Who do you think I am going to believe?

Why would you believe either of us? You can go look at the tenets of communism and compare them to the actions of China. If they are the same, China is Communist. If they are different, China is not.

I have done the comparison. China fulfills very few of the tenets of Communism, regardless of what they believe. If belief was the defining point of whether or not a political system is ascribed to, then North Korea would be a Democratic Republic of the People (it's right there in their name). Are you of the opinion that North Korea is a Democratic Republic? They believe they are.

and only the economically distraught want to live there now.

So what's the problem? "Economically distraught" understates the condition of my grandparents when they immigrated to the US. Uneducated too, and horror of horror my grandmother never spoke a word of English, unless you count a few swear words, in 59 years of living in the US. Oh, the ingratitude! It's all those poor, low education, dirty foreigners who made America great. Another snooty entitled (lazy) white is maybe the last thing America needs.

China is not Communist, no matter how much posters on this site want to push the CCP's propaganda that they are.

The Chinese leadership firmly believe they are communists on the scientific path to socialist utopia. Xi more than his immediate predecessors is a true believer. Then some anonymous dude on a blog comes along and claims they are not communists notwithstanding their own claims to be so. Who do you think I am going to believe?

Even if Japan just listens to the US and does what she’s told to do, the US still has a problem China: it doesn’t have the sanction card. EU just signed with China.

No, the EU did not and there is no longer a chance of any kind of EU/China trade deal as long as China maintains sanctions on European parliamentarians

The US labels Iran as a comprehensively sanctioned country and threatens to sanction anyone who conducts business in or with Iran, but then China goes and signs a 25 year agreement for its latest investments in Iran's energy and infrastructure sectors.

There is less there than it seems. China and Iran cannot use US dollars or any aspect of the US financial system to conduct this proposed business. Neither nation's own currencies are used in foreign trade. It remains to be seen how the two nations will be able to effect payment. Nobody who deals in US Dollars inside or outside of the US will touch it. That maybe leaves barter. Tough to pay your employees in commodities when cash transactions are not possible.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

For all the faults with the US, why are 100,000+ people a month trying to migrate here?

It's dropping. More people want to live in Canada now than America: https://www.mondaq.com/canada/work-visas/1014380/canada-tops-survey-as-country-where-people-most-want-to-move

Trump ruined the image of the US over four years, and only the economically distraught want to live there now.

I would have been willing to live there until about 2014 or 2015. You couldn't pay me enough to live there now.

Let's be realistic - China may call itself a great Communist state, but even this is a lie: it's a vicious totalitarian dictatorship, which ruthlessly rules its' 1.4 billion people with a rod of iron.

It spies and eavesdrops on them at every city/town/village level, it demands total obedience from them, and controls every single aspect of their miserable lives. It's industrial expansion is so carelessly vast that the people are forced to breathe the disgusting polluted air, which leads inevitably to massive numbers of early-deaths.

But history tells us in the 1940's and '50's under Mao and his acolytes, during the massive famines of The Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution, which brought about 30 to 50 million deaths, which the elites cared not a jot about. This evil leadership should be overthrown, and maybe the country is ripe for another Revolution - we can all make an effort to bring this about by totally boycotting China. It will be a horrendously bloody fight, but it's one that has to happen.

First you face up to the bully, then you take him down......

5 ( +5 / -0 )

For all the faults with the US, why are 100,000+ people a month trying to migrate here?

People are scurrying across the US southern border because Americans need drywall hung, cinderblock walls made, vegetables picked, people who will work in meatpacking plants for less than minimum wage and landscaping done.

Employers face no penalty in hiring these people. They are no different than the corporate executives who closed factories and laid off workers so they could have products made in China, selling the future of their children for more profit today.

It the US wanted to stop illegal immigration, it could do it in one week. There are enough national guard and reservists to stand ten feet apart along the 2,000 mile border with Mexico.

China will not back away from its policy of bullying externally and internally because they know that the rest of the world won't stand up to them. Cowards are no threat to a bully.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Gotta love the US. A nation, where the police literally go around murdering ethnic minorities, lecturing other countries on human rights. Politics is hilarious.

There's a difference.

In the US, a police officer harming anyone, not just a minority, gets noticed. They are provided with a lawyer and usually can have visitors in jail. If there is a police killing for any reason, the cop is put on desk duty or administrative leave immediately. That's policy at almost all police departments. An investigation happens. If the cop is found to have acted outside his authority, they can be charged.

In China, how's that work? I'm ignorant. Do cops get charged with crimes in China? Were the cops who pulled WeiWei in and beat him ever convicted of their crimes?

For all the faults with the US, why are 100,000+ people a month trying to migrate here?

How many people try to migrate into China each month - well - besides the North Koreans?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I wouldn't be surprised if Wang Yi licked the back of his hand and started grooming himself. Motegi, as ever, looks like the construction worker-got-lucky.

This so called new handshake is stupid. It may stop the hands from making contact but elbow to elbow "bumping" puts your faces closer together than a normal handshake putting you in the line of the other persons breath.

Yes, of course, you’re right. On the other side it’s also stupid to expect rational , logical or common sense thinking from those people. Don’t complain, it’s really no use anymore and you surely won’t make the world any better too.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

China needs to be choked out with every economic and military resource available

Think we need a different strategy because no one is going to stop trading with China. Australia’s top trading partner: China. Japan’s: China. EU: China. The US: China. Korea: China. Russia: China. This option isn’t realistic.

The let’s all go to war with China and send our 19 and 21 year old men and women to fight idea isn’t going to fly either.

To start, you’d have to affect China’s ability to translate resources into fighting power. Oil is supplied by Saudi’s Arabia, Iran, Angola, and Russia and so that won’t change but gas and coal are supplied by Australia.

Australia needs to be the one to take one for the team with allies making respective compensation via trade.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The thing about bullies is that one has to stand up to them, or expect them to repeatedly stomp all over you. The countries being threatened by Xi have the ability to make any military attack very, very costly for China.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The US’s response....nothing. At least puff your chest out a little and say something even if you can’t do anything about it

The same will happen with deals between Japan and China.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

What a clown, does he not remember their attempts to undermine Japan’s control of the Senkaku islands. Duh

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Japan speaks up more on human rights

Do you have other joke like that???

-5 ( +4 / -9 )

These blatantly obvious and far from discrete threats by the CCP only serve to backfire for them in the end. Pretty much every time. Taiwan’s pineapple buying bonanza for one, and many many others. It proves beyond any doubt that these jokers are no where near the levels of competence, sophistication nor maturation needed to rise and become the new number one on the block, the role that they so desperately seem to be aspiring to.

Desperate being the key word. Surely they are only signaling inwards not outwards. Trying to pick a fight.

Japan, it seems is doing it’s best not to upset the spoilt kid in the neighborhood while quietly digging in for what’s going to be a long winded screaming match! Eventually though, the waking samurai will have to really stand up.

Worlds most important country for infrastructure, education and trade and not war.

USA!

A country where the economy hasn't grown in 30 years,

Zimbabwe?

where the public debt is a few 100% of GDP,

According to the U.S. Bureau of Public Debt, in 2015 and 2017, the United States had debt-to-GDP ratios of 104.17% and 105.4%, respectively. A few hundred % debt to GDP, again Zimbabwe?

where the population is in a precipitous decline and could well fall off a cliff in the near future.

American population growth Since the 2010 Census, the population has increased by 19.5 million or 6.3%

Not the US, is it maybe China? The current population of China in 2021 is 1,444,216,107, a 0.34% increase from 2020. Awful close to going negative.

In short, a failing state.

Well that is easy, North Korea, Venezuela and maybe Zimbabwe. (sorry Zimbabwe I am not trying to pick on you).

continuing to be allied with and letting USA forces occupy Japan will I fear prove to be the end of Japan.

News from pre 1952. From 1953 there is no occupation of Japan (China likes to provide misinformation) as the USA is in Japan at Japans discretion. They are allies and it riles China to no end that the US is close allies with both Japan off its east coast and South Korea close to it's border, and has troops stationed in both nations.

China will say anything and voice any lie to attempt to sour the relationships and have America gone from the region. All so China can flex it's muscles and get its way in everything in the region without any single nation able to oppose them and win.

Apparently, Premier Suga has been awed by US military prowess, so much so that he is blindly following practically what US has been demanding so far.

Apparently Premier Suga has NOT been awed by China's military prowess, so much so that he is confident in siding with Japans friend and ally the USA.

China truly inherited the sneaky and threating rhetorical politic from the old Soviet Union.

As a child from the 80es raised in western Europe I remember them having such kind of tactics against us.

In 1991 we all celebrated the fall or an inhuman regime and now sadly the new generations have to live a similar kind of situation just on a different region of the world.

In this Japan not only have the strong military and political support of the U.S. but it's backed by all the western European countries like France, the U.K. and many others.

Only together we can put a stop to such psycological, mental and physical violence that is perpetuated by communist China.

Chinese people are not the enemy and in the end they are the first victims of a strong propaganda that brain washed them, but their government which is not only putting huge instability to the world but also giving to the many honest Chinese people a bad reputation.

18 ( +18 / -0 )

A wealthy country that allows people such as yourself to call Japan a puppet without fear of prosecution. I wonder if a blogger living in China would be able to badmouth China? What do you think?

Japan speaks up more on human rights in China's Xinjiang region

No proof.

No one likes China. The evil empire wannabe.

Please educate me. Worlds most important country for infrastructure, education and trade and not war.

apart from Israel, name one country that loves USA! Canada? Mexico? EU? Middle East? SE Asia? China? Russia?

please name one more apart from Saudi...?

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

@HimariYamada

Why should a blogger living in China badmouth China if he/she doesn't like it? They can leave China right away and do whatever the badmouth outside of China.

Even Japan cannot handle such person living in Japan and at the same time badmouthing. People of South East Asian countries will be even more angrier if such thing gets viral, Not just China.

-13 ( +2 / -15 )

Free world must unite against the evil empire !!..

You can help too..

DON'T BUY CHINESE THINGS !!..

BOYCOTT CHINA !!..

Really.

The CCP has no good reputation to stand on. Literally NONE. Let's name what good things that China under the CCP has accomplished that the rest of the world admires...

What countries has the CCP uplifted into better standing? Not even China has been uplifted to something better... Taiwan on the other hand...

11 ( +13 / -2 )

The CCP can keep their b/s statements to themselves! Nobody outside of China believes their commie propaganda!!

11 ( +13 / -2 )

In the words of Gen. Smedley Butler:

"You can only trust a Commie to be a Commie."

CCP should be a bit more introspective before tossing stones.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Either stand up or cave in. Hmm. Which one?

7 ( +8 / -1 )

but everyone wants to do business in China.

Many Chinese businesses are becoming desperate for loss of overseas markets.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

"Communist China sould shut it. Japan is a sovereign nation, and the US is her number one ally, so she is free to hold any Summit she wishes."

Nice talk, but would it not better for Japan to have the ability to defend herself-as Israel does- than to rely on the US for protection?

8 ( +11 / -3 )

China's foreign minister cautioned Japan against teaming up with the U.S.

If China does not like it, Japan must be doing something right.

15 ( +17 / -2 )

China making yet another thinly veiled implicit threat. Japan, together with other countries, should collectively respond with their own threats of tariffs like China has put on Australian wine. China, the bully, needs to be taught a lesson and quickly.

16 ( +16 / -0 )

China needs to mind their business, as they always say when cautioned about the things they do.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

China cautions Japan ahead of U.S.-Japan summit

Ok China. Back off the Senkaku Islands and maybe Japan will think about it. How's THAT??

20 ( +21 / -1 )

No one likes China. The evil empire wannabe.

21 ( +23 / -2 )

I don't think China has any plans to invade Japan's populated islands. They will probably start building "something" on or near the disputed islands in the next few years, perhaps a military installation to help gather RF intelligence from behind Taiwan? Radar signatures can vary massively based on the profile shown.

If there are oil and gas resources underwater, I would be surprised if a drilling platform takes a week to be relocated into Taiwanese or Japanese EEZ waters.

This will be the plan, take an inch at a time until they have multiple miles acquired.

Of course, China will continue their nationally sponsored espionage against all foreign companies and govts to understand how far they can push without bullets. Since all new stuff includes hardware and software, even if it doesn't arrive with back doors enabled, the spotty security can almost always be remotely cracked, modified, to cause havoc with nearby systems or just to gather more intelligence from unsuspecting devices.

For example, printers can be used as listening devices now. https://www.vice.com/en/article/d73bmq/how-to-turn-a-cheap-printer-into-a-stealthy-bugging-device I'm 100% serious. IoT stuff is even worse. Most of that comes from China and "phones home" for instructions and upgrades.

Perhaps trading food with China would be safe ... unless it is baby's formula.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

"China cautions Japan ahead of U.S.-Japan summit"

AMERICA and Japan together show that countries can be great together and independent as well. For a country like china to caution any country shows that the manipulation is at the forefront of policy. As an AMERICAN, I applaud Japan for standing with AMERICA to handle any country like china that might try to cause harm financially or otherwise. Any country that trust china is a country that will have the burden of that partnership in the future.

11 ( +16 / -5 )

Great example of "do as I say, not as I do" on the part of the PRC.

20 ( +21 / -1 )

"Minister Wang Yi, left, and his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi bump elbows as they meet in Tokyo"

This so called new handshake is stupid. It may stop the hands from making contact but elbow to elbow "bumping" puts your faces closer together than a normal handshake putting you in the line of the other persons breath.

15 ( +16 / -1 )

Yeah, thanks for the advice. Now, get out of the Senkakus. Stop encroaching on Taiwan. Stop breaking the the Hong Kong agreement. Stop mass incarceration of ethnic minorities. Stop stealing our intellectual property and technology.

25 ( +28 / -3 )

What have Japan achieved in the last 30 years or so by being the puppet of USA? Nothing. For the future of Japan and Japanese, they must change the direction and be good friends with China but without betraying America or Japan must start the new game by being truly the independent.

-19 ( +10 / -29 )

This is a dilemma for the small, island nation.

“Chinese Foreign Minister Yi told his Japanese counterpart in a phone call Mon eve that their 2 countries should ensure that their relations "do not get involved in the so-called confrontation between major countries," a Chinese Foreign Ministry statement said.” -

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

CCP commenting on Japan's internal affairs? Gotta love the hypocrisy...

30 ( +32 / -2 )

Sometimes it's confusing to see Japan consistently join USA provocations against it's No.1 trading partner by far. And confusing China doesn't hit back. I can only presume they have some kind of backroom agreement. Like Japan agrees to talk the talk but has guaranteed no practical action.

Still, I don't know why Japan bothers appeasing USA at all anymore. Is the government worried USA is going to drop a couple more nukes on Japanese cities?

-26 ( +6 / -32 )

Communist China sould shut it. Japan is a sovereign nation, and the US is her number one ally, so she is free to hold any Summit she wishes.

Commie China is facing pushback on all fronts - likely mass boycott of Beijing 2022 due to their mass genocide of Muslims, QUAD and other forces patrolling around Taiwan to ensure Rule of Law and freedom of the seas, and still waiting for the inquiry into how China unleashed Covid on the world.

The Commies are in a world of trouble. All caused by themselves.
