Japan and China are close neigbours.a good relation is always better than poor one.

Such relations might be possible if the Chinese didn't still nurse a grudge from WWII and want revenge. Mark my words, if Japan ever appears vulnerable enough China will attack Japan in a heartbeat.

Sounds like Xi Jinping doesn't want to add another razor sharp knife to his juggling act. He's already juggling the South China Sea, India, Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong, Covid-19, African Swine Flu, Bubonic Plague, the US trade war and now Inner Mongolians keeping their kids out of school and protesting over forced Mandarin language instruction. Wonder how many knives he can juggle before he starts dropping knives and pokes himself?

Japanese GDP shrink 28% in second quarter, Japan needs Chinese market now more than ever, I don't think Suga is in a position to be tough on China. Suga would be throw out by Japanese corporations if he even attempts to deteriorate China-Japan trade relation.

I'm not a fan of Xi but he should definitely try and come to Japan as promised this year. The more we talk in person, the better chance to understand the Chinese point of view, 

Just a few years ago Xi Jing Ping was invited to the United States where he stated that "China has no intention of militarizing the South China Sea" to then President Obama's face. Six months later China was putting military equipment on those artificial islands. I think that gives a pretty clear picture of the "Chinese view".

Dont make troubles, behave like a good neighbor and we will have a stable relation.

Suga has enough wisdom, but does he has enough bravery to change the fate of Japan for better ?

Suga has inherited a deep recession, possibly a depression, in a government unable to balance a budget in years. He has also inherited a Japan in a region blighted with tensions and a Japan deeply unable to cope with a pandemic. All these have roots in China. A brave PM would roll up his sleeve and confront China, if not for the world then at least for Japan.

Anyone, who want to be the greatest PM of Japan who must develop true relationship with China and recognize that the world has changed since 130 years ago.

Of course China want to improve relationship. Because India this year had been massively improving relationship with us and more and more companies are considering moving factories to Vietnam or India. And this also because the Quad alliance happen. Not to mention literally every member of the ASEAN is now against China. Suga is their only hope to salvage any chance of improvement.

Japanese tourism is down the drain, Japanese supply chain is broken and always at risk of Chinese political meddling, and Japanese car industry is now at grave risk of unfair competition from Chinese slave labour. Yeh, of course China wants to maintain stable ties.
