Let's hope China and Japan can solve their differences in a diplomatic manner.
Look at France and Germany. Fingers crossed.

Unoccupied? How could any country administer islands that it does not occupy. The islands have been under Japanese occupation since 1972. Between 1945 and 1972, they were under US occupation. Between 1895 and 1945, they were under Japanese occupation. Beijing correspondent of AFP sounds like a loud speaker for Chinese Communist Party. I would check whatever CCP says before parroting.
If they were unoccupied, would they be open to anyone for occupation?

Stop wasting words and energy, thereby letting ICOJ and International community decide the ownership of all dispute islands. Japan should demand the world community participation in resolving the issue, and then move on thus showing a good example to the rest of the world.

These behind the scenes talks must be furthered. It is the only way that this stalemate can be resolved. China must come up with a face saving means of backing off these islands.
