How dare CCP politicized cultural exchange event.

What on earth were Japanese embassy officials thinking organizing a China-Japan cultural exchange event, in this current political climate? Huge waste of taxpayers money.

Learn to read the room, guys.

Think it should read Abe scuttles, if he had a functioning brain he would might have guessed this would happen. But planning not his strongest strength.

Look at that dear S.Korea.

China is very angry at Japan's position towards Taiwan.

A Taiwan emergency is a Japan emergency.... No such support from S.Korea.

In fact president Moon of S. Korea less then a week ago said that China relations are too important and S. Korea has nothing to say on Taiwan.

China is becoming more aggressive and dangerous every single day.

Supporting each other like joining Quad Alliance to balance China is very important to avoid a major conflict. South Korea is not part of Quad Alliance and doesn't plan to join.

Supporting Taiwan is important because they are a democracy, friend and neighbor, we all use their chips. Japan and S. Korea use the water lanes close to Taiwan to ship all of our products overseas.

South Korea is not focused on China or Russia.... someone else problem.

Jae Myung, the ruling Democratic Party’s candidate for the 2022 South Korean presidential election. He ruled out the possibility of a United States-South Korea-Japan military alliance, adding that South Korea “needs to be prepared in the event Japan’s dream of continental expansion erupts militarily.”

While I don't disagree with his comments, why is this guy still in the government? Didn't he quit (right after his masks scheme)?

It sounds like something North Korea would do.

Irrespective of what one thinks of Abe personally or his policies, it of Abe personally or his policies, it's a safe bet that he'sfar more intelligent (and wealthier) than you ever will be.

Abe. He feigns illness and retires to avoid scandal.

He's an old man. A right-wing, reactionary, paleo-conservative who seems to be suffering from a neurological disorder brought on by age and a lifetime of shading 'the truth' to fit personal ambition.

That he in any way is afforded an opportunity to be an official spokesman of the state is less than wise.

He is purposefully offensive to the world's largest economic powerhouse and a trading and manufacturing partner. Japan is tied to China economically and dependent on it manufacturing, fabrication and assembly industries. Diplomacy is key. As if pronouncements from Abe have any meaning, as he is neither an official or party that represent military or economic policy & strategy. Let alone is China going to invade Taiwan.

Taiwan is interconnected with the mainland - many of its largest corporate entities have major & large manufacturing and assembly factories in China. China's global empire is economic, not military. Which is contrary to the US empire, which is primarily military based.

Abe needs to go quietly into the night and disappear. He represents an atavistic global outlook that is no longer viable.

So far Abe is the only one making noises about this.

Suga tries neutral remark.

Kishida is trying his best to be positive while actively bolstering Japan's defenses.

The sooner Abe is out of Japan's politics the better!

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

Japan doesn't like any "negative" remarks on the Kuril Islands, why would its politicians make such remarks on Taiwan?

Bad peace is better than good war. Enhance your relations with China, your neighbor for life, & forget about the US, whose only interest now is to covert Europe & Japan into a Cannon fodder in its war against Russia & China.

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

As I have been saying for several DECADES now, the west must unite to help cut off the head of the chinese monster, not only to avoid worldwide conflict but to save china & its peoples as welll!

7 ( +9 / -2 )

This is what Abe said on Dec 1st at a Taiwan think tank event - "In the event of an attack on a U.S. vessel, it could be a situation posing a threat to Japan’s survival, which would allow the exercise of collective self-defense"

Abe is not in power anymore and has no say whether a situation is posing a threat to Japan or not and whether they should exercise any military action... so why the heck is he saying this? its like he's trying ruin Kishida's govt to make his tenure as PM look better... let this clown focus on his youtube channel and away from politics!

It is obvious what CCP is thinking is to revive Tributary system of China over entire Asia. They believe only 20c was exceptional

Both countries need to improve relations..

Abe San, Please be quiet..

China can never really 'join' the international community if she continues to have trouble handling any comments that may disagree with what she thinks.

It’s oK. Perhaps, like some, he doesn’t know how to? :

I'm sick of our so called democratic nations worrying about offending fascist dictatorships like China, and North Korea. It's time to stop trading with these monsters until they introduce real democracy.

I think, CCP has reached its Bell Curve. It's all downwill now

2 ( +3 / -1 )

in japan only anti china rhetoric will gain support, abe san making a come back!

Boycott the CCP Games. The NHL is, so now we get to see high school level hockey.
