It looks like educating Chinese children to adore Tojo. I'll say it was similar marketing strategy for Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney selling Mickey Mouse Ice cream to children.

I don't know whether it was accidental marketing error or not but I'm sure one of Communist Chinese children will be crying for to buy Tojo Ice cream to his parent. Children will love Tojo Ice cream and children don't care slogan.

I'd rather eat his ice cream bust than pay respects to him in a shrine.

Sick commercialism.

Watching the Tojo bust melting rather than eating can be very interesting if you bear a vengeance mind.

Don't think I need to lick someone's face as ice cream, regardless of whose face it was. If it were in good fun, I'd say what the heck. This just kind of seems in poor taste, war criminal or not.

Bad choice. I would say these candies promote Tojo. You know, in Egypt they sell sweets with pictures of Abd al-Fattah as-Sisi on them, and nobody considers it offensive.

Wow, childish much? Sore winner if I ever saw one. I'm nearly always on the defensive side for China and Korea when it comes to WWII issues today, but they just keep getting more and more ridiculous and immature. These people need to learn how to adult.

I bet there are a few right wing nuts here who would love to have Tojo in their mouths.

$5 for a popsicle in Shanghai?

@Meiyouwenti

Hiroshima chocolate and Nagasaki macha flavored ice cream cones for sale in Japan? Is that supposed to be a joke? I don't get it.

I believe it's sarcasm.

This is so wrong in so many ways. Propaganda aside, why on Earth would I want to eat ice cream in shape of a criminal responsible for the deaths of many? Isn't ice cream supposed to be a happy or at least enjoyable time?

Tojo was just following through on orders issued by a higher (and at the time, divine) authority. Mr Abe has been doing his best to destroy east Asian relations with his revisionism. So, there were more appropriate faces that could have been chosen

*immature

This is the sickest way ever to commemorate the end of the war...and really premature...

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Mmmmmm...yum-yum...I wanna lick Tojo's face all over..

Maybe the Chinese actually loved the guy and hated to see him go. It's kind of like the Mickey Mouse ice cream you can buy at Disney Land. Who doesn't wanna eat Mickey Mouse ice cream when they visit Disney Land?

Pretty creepy, but apparently it matches their taste.

The decendants of Tojo family can file a lawsuit to complain the mass violations of their family copyrights. I hope Abe is not being to be their coming product.

Moon1 SEP. 03, 2015 - 09:11AM JST The Chinese always act how you expect them to. No class at all.

So the Chinese people can collectively be judged for one product that one business chose to create? Harsh. If we apply that kind of standard to the Western World, most of us are in deep trouble.

I'd like to see Mao's head on a stick. He was on a par with Hitler, Stalin and Genghis in the monster rankings. I wouldn't want to eat one though. Just plant it in a rubbish heap and watch it melt.

Facial hair is probably a bad look for a frozen treat. Perhaps if they get rid of Tojo's mustache they might sell a few more.

Pretty good idea to drum up the mood. China is really pressing the buttons.

“10,000 people together eat the Japanese war criminal.” and let imperialist stimulus run through your blood!

Good on China!

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Thie trouble is that it makes Tojo look cute like chocolate Santa Claus. Worse, it failed to tick off the Japanese government. Now if they had made an Emperor Hirohito ice cream on a stick there would have been a furious objection from Tokyo, which would have gotten a few chortles from China. But even then, the whole idea is stupid. How can you think of national humiliation when you are eating ice cream?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Unfortunately some people hate because of race, financial status, religious beliefs, nationality or what happened in the past. It's sad and too much anger and hatred is just plain wrong and there is so much in China. No one in the world gains a thing from hating another person. We are losing humanity because of hate. Hate is not sustainable, it will destroy the hated or more likely, it will destroy the hater, but hate always eventually destroys. Hate is a choice you can choose not to let in your life or you can choose to embrace it and accept the consequences. In the end you are responsible for your own hate, not the person you choose to hate.

“Never forget national humiliation.”

Seriously? Sigh... This infantile motto speaks volumes about why China is largely unable and unwilling to accept a Japanese apology for the War, no matter how sincere. They've systematically conditioned themselves to "never forget national humiliation." This will never end.

I'm waiting for Chinese to start serving the Wang Jingwei sundae.

From Wiki: "In June 1941, Wang gave a public radio address from Tokyo in which he praised Japan, affirmed China's submission to it, criticised the Kuomintang government, and pledged to work with the Empire of Japan to resist communism and Western imperialism."

He was a really, really, really bad man... but at least he tasted pretty good.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

wow lol...can't even say i'm surprised lol.

About time Japan got taken down a peg or too considering the atrocities it committed in Nanjing.

Again, Konoe gets no recognition despite starting the war in 1937.

I would not eat if Shapes of ice cream cone is like atomic bomb, Hiroshima dome, something clear related to there, but chocolate and macha is anywhere in Japan and even at seven-eleven stores.

After a quick check, they do this with other people. I've seen ice-cream bars of Steve Jobs and Kim Jong Il.

It's all in good fun until somebody gets hurt.

As far as bad taste in making a buck off of death and disaster, this takes the cake:

The museum at Ground Zero tells the dark story of the 9/11 terror attacks with spectacular artifacts and exhibits. It pays heart-wrenching tribute to the innocents and heroes killed that day. It also has a gift shop.

Made from Chinese milk with melamine?

That kinda ice cream really makes me sick. I just wonder,,,Do Chinese people relish such ice cream?

Boy, Chicoms sure have the propaganda machine rolling on high gear...Goebbels would be proud.

“Never forget national humiliation.”

Has there ever been such a celebration of victimhood?

Takes the cake for bad taste. LOL

Mother: "Do you want to eat a Japanese war criminal ice cream?" Kid: "Yup!"
