Beijing could show real leadership by disarming or even reducing the number of warheads. They won't, but they could and the entire region would be safer. They could certainly apply pressure on NK and Pakistan to disarm. But they won't.

China urges Japan to stay true to nuclear disarmament commitment

While China constructs literally hundreds of new ICBM silos in three missile fields in their western deserts.

Meanwhile, China’s up to its eyeballs with nukes while it conducts land grabs and engages in war mongering.

China needs to try harder in leading by example, instead it’s do as I say, not what I do.

Unless China stops their taunting and threatening of other nations it will not be in a position to demand or urge anybody else to do better than them.

Many countries can have the high ground to point to Japan (or more exactly to people in power that want the country to have nuclear weapons) to honor its commitment, but China is not one.

China urges Japan not to arm itself and protect its pepole.

So it can invade....

The CCP's arrogance and hypocrisy has no bounds.

Sound very familiar, isn't that what Russia, China, the U.S. and the west did to Ukraine back 1992 when they disarmed it of it's nuclear arsenals and left it wide open for Russia to invade??

""Memorandum on Security Assurances in connection with the Republic of Belarus'/Republic of Kazakhstan's/Ukraine's accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons

Original signatories: Belarus Kazakhstan Ukraine Russia United States United Kingdom France China"""

Says who? The one with quite an available nuclear arms arsenal and currently threatening all neighboring countries with military activities and maneuvers everywhere, in the Sea of China, flotillas around Japan, prolonged missile included training around Taiwan and EEZ? They are the very first in East Asai, followed by North Korea, who should shut up when it is about nuclear disarmament.

Japan would be stupid to do that!!!! Japan should get as many nukes as it can ASAP!!!

Beijing claimed that despite its pledge, the only country in the world to have suffered nuclear attacks in war has been protected by the U.S. nuclear umbrella and is opposed to Washington relinquishing the no-first-use policy regarding its nuclear weapons.

There are a lot of double standards as regards nuclear weapons deployment.

Some countries are tacitly allowed to possess them (Israel).

While other countries struggle to develop and deploy them (North Korea and Iran) knowing that it is one of the few things that guarantees they will not be subject to regime change.

When China disarms it will then be able to urge Japan to to stay true to the nuclear disarmament commitment. Until then it is one of a dozen nations that has no moral rights to tell others to do, what they themselves do not have the courage to do.

I urge China to disarm it's nuclear weapons and to show that nuclear disarmament can be done.

Right on. Japan should not talk about nuclear disarmament while seeking the U.S. nuclear umbrella as well as conniving at some LDP politicians suggesting the share of nuclear weapons with the U.S.

However, it may be that Japan is reluctant at heart to be under the U.S.'s nuclear umbrella but it is the U.S. side that wants to deploy nuclear weapons to Japan way more actively.  Cf. Sato-Nixon's secret agreement as to freely bringing in nuclear arsenal to U.S. bases in Okinawa.

No nuclear weapons=regime change.

There is only the nuclear option to preserve sovereignty or there is subservience!

It is a fact that the majority of Chinese, outside of the elites who have a lot to lose, wants to go to war with Japan, with many hoping for nuclear war.

Japan should instead immediately obtain nuclear weapons, so that it can act as further deterrent to the Chinese elites, who may eventually fall to public pressure and forced into war.

LMFAO China jibberish words never seems to amaze me! "China urged Japan to stay true to its commitment to building a world without nuclear weapons, as it expressed doubt about Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's pledge to do so" What country believes ANYTHING CHINA says? In other words the Chinese is saying we don't want you to have Nuclear weapons even though China has them. China wants Japan to have a knife and bow and arrow only while China has bombs, and machine guns!! They want total control! They don't want you to fight them they want you to surrender to them by force!!

Japan should not continue the anti-nuke stance. It is so wrong I don't know where to begin. With China and Russia and North Korea, all aggressively targetting Japan and the trio possess nukes. The only way for Japan to avoid a war is to have a deterrent that is either on equal footing with their nukes or something more powerful. I think it is the right time for Japan to have nukes and also revise the constitution and form a proper army. Japan is now a victim to bullying alongside Japan's friend and ally Taiwan.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Why don't all of them renounce their terrorist atomic weapons??..

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

If Japan acquired nuclear weapons, the Chinese will drop their "NO FIRST USE" doctrine of nuclear weapons and that means the Chinese will strike at anytime for any suspicious activities!

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Japan should ask Israel to confirm the existence of nuclear weapons, why a nation has a special privilege to deny they owned that weapon.

Yes, China is covered with much secrecy of how many nuclear weapons they owned but Israel even refused to confirm. So how fair is Japan sincerely over nuckear disarmament? It was a joke!

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Well said, China! Japan is nothing wishful for peace, she is arming and hostile, the only thing good is to see Shinzo Abe has gone!
