Fighto!
Japan - and every free, independent, democratic nation - will continue to refer to Taiwan as Taiwan. It is a disgrace and a gross inaccuracy they are forced to use an embarrassing name "Chinese Taipei" in sporting events.
China can shut their mouth. Taiwan is Taiwan.
Cricky
It’s an independent country that is in close proximity so yes it’s going to be on the agender. Nobody wants to see what happened in Tibet happen happen that close to home.

Looks like we have a bully on the block.

""We urge the U.S. side to stop playing with fire on the Taiwan issue," Tan said.""
And on the flip side of the very same coin the world urges China to stop playing with fire too.

I don't mind paying double of the price but I want more Made In Japan and Made in India.
Boycott of cheap and disposable goods from china

What? That isn't how citizenship works in the US. Please get a clue before posting.
IT is illegal to provide help to specifically sanctioned companies for US residents. I can't help Iranian, North Korean, Cuban companies without lots of paperwork. Some of my skills used to be covered under ITAR rules, so I couldn't work within those industries anywhere outside the US without specific approvals.
With China (western Taiwan) still trying to become a country that follows rule-of-law (that's on the agenda from the CCP-Congress for the next 10 yrs) and with Xi using COVID lockdowns against his political rivals to make them hurt, don't think I'll be working for Chinese companies.
I have nothing against nearly all the Chinese people who are good, honest, hard-working. It is the few at the top, with only 1 goal - to stay in power at any cost - which the rest of the world has any issues.
Taiwan is a separate county. Get over it. Soon, Taiwan should file for UN membership to put that issue to bed, completely.

That warning sounds like China interfering in Japan's internal affairs. Oh, I forgot, that "universal principle" of non-interference that China bellows all the time does not apply to China itself. Such hypocrisy is almost the definition of an arrogant bully. Get over yourself China. Otherwise your worst insecurity might be exposed: the world collectively and consciously laughing at you.

It's counterproductive.... the text referring to Taiwan will be a bigger font, red-bold and underlined :)

And what might China do if Japan does not abide by China's request? Will China unleash their partner, the loosest of loose cannons Kim, maybe call their partner Russia and ask Putin whether he's willing to have even more Russian soldiers killed like he is having done in Ukraine, maybe call Iran and tell Raisi and the Ayatollah it's a 'holy' war?Anti-west crowd, is China trying to provoke a war?
Garthgoyle
Just the same Russia is unifying with its Ukraine province?

China is once again fermenting war in the region with hostile demands on a sovereign nation, with delusional thinking that it has the right to make demands of others in regards to a third party. Taiwan is an internal matter for Taiwan and not for any other country.
China has no rights to determine anything for Taiwan. Taiwan is not China and does not belong to China. Just ask any Taiwanese and they will confirm that.
China continues to tell the world a military takeover of Taiwan is not off the table and yet complains about others scaremongering that China could attack Taiwan. China can end all that "scaremongering" by simply taking military action off the table. But it refuses to do that so it must put up with those who highlight it.
China creates its own problems and likes to point fingers at others so as to put the blame on them for the problems China itself creates.
Shame on China. Mind your own business and stop demanding others act as you want them to. Taiwan is not yours to dictate over.

Yeah, yeah, warn this, threaten that. We’ve heard it all before, but whatever YOU do is o.k., huh ?
JTC
Japan should focus upon defense of itself from whoever/whatever threatens it, without naming specific perceived current threats. That would be inline with it's current non-aggressive stance.
China, and Korea (N/S) , should really stop going after Japan in order to have Political gains back home.
Belrick
Iwill always refer to Taiwan as Taiwan, and deem it its own country.
China will eventually fall hard and wonder why.
Personally, I feel for the average Chinese person, but the CCP can get stuffed.

Biden unofficially declared war on China when he recently banned microchips (the new gold) to China. All the American engineers were threatened to lose their US citizenship so all of them resigned from their companies in China. This will halt all processing or manufacturing of most of the electronic goods including cars. China was being provoke to invade Taiwan where most of the world’s chips are manufactured. A high ranking Chinese official said they have now taken full control of HongKong, now they have their eyes on Taiwan. The globalists elites are instigating these wars like what they did in Ukraine so that countries will give up their sovereign rights to global entities because they are desperate for peace and security. This is how the globalists are hastening their agenda for a one world government.
No country in the world has benefited so much from Globalism as China.
China is globalization personified.

It's time to racket down tensions in the region. Both the US and China take the blame for that. Xi & Biden restarting dialog in Indonesia is an important first step.

The title gives the impression that this article is about China speaking to Japan, but that’s only the first three paragraphs; mostly (eight paragraphs) it’s about China and the US.

Japan should refrain from interfering in China's internal affairs and we {China] will refrain from interfering from Taiwans internal affairs. How is that for a deal?
englisc aspyrgend
I sincerely hope Japan references this unwarranted interference in its internal affairs in the document as a reason for referencing Taiwan and threats from West Taiwan in the document.

Chinese President Xi Jinping doesn't consider Russia as a key member LOL This guy cannot be trusted and Russia should be worried, in 1969 Russia took part of far east China territory from china. Don't think Xi is not thinking about getting that territory back now that he knows Russia is weak. I think he will go after that territory before trying to get back Taiwan!!!
Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a message sent Wednesday to the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations that Beijing "stands ready to work with the United States to find the right way to get along with each other in the new era on the basis of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation."
theFu
More lies. China makes agreements all the time with many different countries, then breaks them. We've been fooled too many times now.
charles chevaux
@kaimycahl - "in 1969 Russia took part of far east China territory from china"
In 1969, China won the battle of Zhenbao island. Of the course of three Russia-China treaties in 1995, 2003, and finally 2008, the China-Russian border became completely defined, including assigning Zhenbao island as Chinese.

China's technology showcase it is all made by foreign researchers and engineers. and engineering and innovation are not their strong point.

China is globalization personified.
You obviously do not have any idea what globalism is. Globalism is not just in trade and commerce. Globalism is one world global governance wherein all aspects of life are controlled by a few elites.

China makes more than 80% of the worlds Chips of 45 nm and above
Indigenously Design , Equipment, Packaging -
100% Indigenous
Thats Cars, Washing Machines, ACs, Heaters, Projectors, Refrigerators, Medical equipment
China profits at 8.1 cents a stack and still make $ 11.6 Billion (70 Billion Yuan) net profit per Zone. Thats roughly $ 100 Billion profit (700 Billion Yuan) for the Industry. At 8 cents a stack!
Even Mexico would lose 11 cents a stacks and lose a whopping $ 6.8 Billion per Zone. Thats roughly $ 57 Billion loss for the Industry.
India? $86 Billion loss a year until 2030
Vietnam? Less than 11% scale possible
So US needs to shell out $ 800 Billion to $ 3 Trillion to achieve their dream of reducing Chinas Chip control but by this time China would have its domestic market so strong that this wouldnt matter much while US would be 3 Trillion poorer. The US cannot compete despite innovation and ideas. The production is simply not competitve enough.
Next 28 nm
China controls 96% of its domestic market
100% Indigenous
Thats Stealth Fighters, Drones, Radars, Laptops, Space Technology, Quadras, Wind Tunnels, Missiles, Trains, Planes, Industrial Robots
At 7.4 cents profit a stack, China makes roughly $ 32.2 Billion (200 Billion Yuan) for the Industry
Chinas demand is massive , but scaling is equally fast
By 2023 - China can meet its entire demand of 28nm Chips
Meanwhile the World? They have to struggle to fulfill barely 60% of their demand
Next 14 nm
Thats Smartphones, Self Drive Cars, Complex Algorithms
China has cracked the Indigenous manufacture
Its achieved 92% Yield in 2022 September
Its just a matter of production scale that China is already a master of
Again China is hungry for demand but due to lockdowns, the demand has been muted helping China keep imports down and keep its domestic supply at 35% of the demand.
China has cornered 58% of the World Market for 14nm Chips
So TSMC amd Samsung will sell as many 14nm chips as China wants.
By 2025 - China will hit the scale and make 100% of its Chips indigenously
So whats left 7nm, 5nm, 3nm
Thats the area that China depends entirely on Imports and prevented Huawei from overtaking Apple and Samsung and making very high end smartphones at best prices. Thats the higher and highest end algorithms, advanced robots, futuristic technology.
The West cannot achieve scaled production of 2nm and 3nm until 2026 at the earliest. That leaves the West with 5 nm and 7 nm. China has cracked the 7 nm but the 84% Yield is not yet of the quality demanded.
Therefore, China is well capable of Indigenous chipmaking for almost all its applications today. China cannot leapfrog ahead of US due to the restrictions on 5 nm and 7 nm Chips; however, China's growth has started and cannot be stopped.
Every day the Chinese find something and move several steps forward. The US is too late to the party. Had they done this by 2012, things would have been much much tougher for China. Obama and Trump gave China a good 7 years.

I would include goods from South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan.. They are Japan's rivals but dupe Japanese People think they are partners.
Most Japanese forget Taiwan claims the Senkakus Islands.
Taiwan bought Sharp with Japanese taxpayers' money and the new TMC factory will also be built with Japanese taxpayers' money.
