At least a nice and classy statement by the Chinese government.

As for South Korea, it should be noted that the South Korea Presidential Blue House spokesman, Kang Min-Seok, also made a classy statement regretting Abe's sudden resignation and wishing him a speedy recovery. However, Kwong Tae-Shin, Vice Chairman of the Federation of South Korean Industries, showed his pettiness with his statements that took a parting shot at Abe.

Don't need to take it seriously. It's just a diplomatic courtesy or typical charm offensive from Beijing.

They probably genuinely do wish him recovery.

China would have enjoyed seeing Abe slowly but surely running Japan down to the ground.

We all want Abe to rest while preparing his defense for the series of corruption scandals he has adroitly dodged, and also wish him a speedy recovery to face the music and, even better but unlikely, justice for his malfeasance and record-setting abuse of power.
