Can anyone say hypocrite? 24 years in a row, a resolution against nukes, but Japan refuses to sign the ICAN treaty?
I hope that some day the countries that signed the treaty will stop supporting this resolution until Japan signs the ICAN!

Yubaru you may be in the wrong. IcAN and japanese resolutions are the same but there was no need for ICAN since we had one already. But Chine didnt sign a single one of them
Yubaru
If the ICAN and Japanese resolutions are the same, then why hasn't Japan signed the ICAN treaty?
This isn't about China! Obviously you are Japanese, so you will obfuscate, deflect, and change the discussion away from anything that makes Japan liable.
THAT is a problem, in and of itself!

Japanese government opposes U.S. reductions in nuclear weapons and always has. They've opposed international treaties in the past and lodged complaints over U.S. proposals to decommission certain weapons. They're hypocrites. I understand why they don't really want to reduce but they could just be honest about it. I mean really. Plus, Japan allowed nuclear weapons into the country on U.S. shipped and Japanese companies assisted Khan in the Pakistan nuclear program. Really.

Sad, very sad. Japanese image is badly and sadly damaged by Abe. Clearly, the only thing that Abe admires is force.
OssanAmerica
Nonsense. "Force" is prohibited by the first part of Article 9 of the constitution. You know, "force" as China is using in the South China Sea.

Well, Abe did make Japan an arms dealer last year. That took a hit to the reputation a fair bit

I would advise Japan to pull out of this resolution and develop their own nukes. The world is too chaotic and dangerous now not to have them. Trump, China, NK, Russia, any one of these morons could start a nuclear war any day and they should be eliminated if they do
toshiko
I agree with dcog. Is Japan sure Trump will not drop ICBM to Japan? Either by accidentally or purposely. Better have home made when Trump plan of nuke war is getting popular in Pentagon.
