At this rate, the UN climate clowns will get their wish as the economy slows down and emissions fall as a result. And of course they'll still keep getting paid from money funnelled through to the UN from taxpayers in donor countries who need that money more than the UN will ever deserve it.

And the UN has done what for Japan?

On the one hand, I too think it would be great if Japan did more to reduce green house gas emissions.
On the other hand, I think that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. To wit: in Japan, as of 2014, the average CO2 emissions per capita was 9.54 metric tonnes. That is a lot of carbon, and that is per person. Over here in California, in a recent year, the emissions per capita was 10.7 metric tonnes. In the USA as a whole, the emissions per capita was recently at 15.54 tonnes per capita. So, a lot of work needs to be done, everywhere. Whether it is 9.5, 10.5, or 15.5 tonnes per person, it is an unsustainable amount of CO2 going into the atmosphere.
