Perhaps some of our tax yen could be used for finding Masako an actually attractive hat suitable for her and an outfit that is less matronly. Quite like the colors, though.

Agree with comment from Patricia Yarrow - Empress Masako’s outfits and especially those hats don’t do her justice. Not sure why she can’t emulate her mother-in-law who dressed fashionably and appropriately.
