I can't believe that he's waited until he's got one foot in the grave before saying something sensible.

MORI has a habit of sticking his foot in his mouth. He was Putin‘s caddy when all the while Putin had no intent and still does not intend to return the northern territories. He is interfering with Japanese diplomacy and should be banned from all appointed positions

Biden is getting to party it up in the Whitehouse, starting it up with his granddaughter wedding and his birthday party this weekend, maybe this stop Zelensky from bothering him,the President need down time from the stress of the Presidency

Ex-Japan PM Mori harsh on Zelenskyy over war in Ukraine

I seriously doubt anyone asked for his opinion.

Who did he even tell this to?

Was he yelling at the moon again?

Mori, have you been taking your pills?

Maybe he mistakingly took Zelensky for a woman, and was just making another sexist and crude remark?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Zelensky has no choice, but too accept responsibility,Biden will lose any power to aid him,if Republicans control the spending, Biden do not have magical powers to by passed congress

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The Russian regime is most certainly left-learning. And I mean really left-wing..................

"Left-learning"?

Yeah, after the Russians have left the land they invaded, they will certainly have learned their lesson.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

While obviously I disagree with the former Japanese PM, I am interested in reading more about his reasoning. So far, all I have seen is his conclusion, and not what he accepts as facts and reasoning. Perhaps he believes that the Ukrainian leader did something that deserves condemnation? If so, what? Standing up to a psychopathic, murdering bully?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Toe jam

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

He’s as thick as two planks, but he was obviously useful to devious politicians. I wonder who put him up to this?

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

He is just stating the obvious, unless you believe that the war started in Feb 22...

Ignore the coup d'etat that removed the Russian friendly president, the anti Russian laws, the harassment of Russians in Ukraine, the elevation of Russian and Jew murdering Nazis, yes real SS member Nazis to national hero status (Stepan Bandera) and the breaking of the Minsk agreement, and yes, Russia bad.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Isn't this the same clown who said "women yap too much", yapping away once again?

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

The former premier also lashed out at Japanese news outlets, saying their "one-sided" reporting on the war in Ukraine gives him the impression they "only rely on reports from Europe and the United States."

He’s right on the money for this one. He’s had his share of gaffes but he couldn’t be more right on this. If you can only read in English versus multiple languages and can access different sources, your view invariable is going to be limited and narrow.

The issue isn’t whether an invasion is right or wrong, it is the fact that’s all you know.

A person with very questionable morals disapproving of Zelenskyy? that should count as a positive.

NATO and specifically the US and German regimes are 100% to blame for the war. They created the ultra-right coup in the Ukraine. They propped up the coup regimes reign of terror in the Ukraine. They expanded NATO despite promises to the Russians not to so. And when finally the Russians issued an ultimatum for written guarantees NATO wouldn't be expanded into the Ukraine, the US and German regimes rejected it.

Then when the war started, Zelensky was ready to sign a peace treaty only for the US and German regimes to dispatch Boris Johnson to torpedo the deal.

The truth is that NATO nor Ukraine would have never attacked Russia. Never. Putin has fond memories of the good ole Soviet days and is still crying over the Soviet Union having LOST the cold war. Hence why the Soviet Union no longer exists. Even if all the ex-Soviet Bloc countries became NATO members, NATO would never attack Russia unless Russia attacked first. There is and never was a military threat to Russia.

Instead Putin makes up lies about facists in Ukraine as the reason to invade. Ukraine as a sovereign nation is free to decide if it wants to join NATO same for the other ex-Soviet Bloc countries. They'd only join if Russia was viewed as a military threat. Clearly Ukraine felt it was and for good reason. What happens in the Ukraine is up to Ukrainians to decide not Russia and Putin.

This is what happened because they lost the Cold War but there were no economic or military sanctions against Russia. They were free to govern their country the way they wanted. And lo and behold, they decided to be a free market economy.

Someone please put this guy out to pasture asap.

-6 ( +6 / -12 )

Mori was a moron when he was PM, playing golf when the Ehime Maru inciodent occurred. Mori is still a moron, the Olympics was a mess and now he reaffirms his idiocy with these Putin supporting coments.. Good grief put this old man out to pasture already.

3 ( +11 / -8 )

Mori made the remarks at a gathering related to Muneo Suzuki, another veteran lawmaker known for close ties with Russia and his efforts to resolve the issue of Russian-held Japanese islands off Hokkaido.

LOL. Let me know when Japan has control of the islands again. Mori is an idiot.

Ultra-right? lolol That's hilarious. Tell me more about this. Hey, any thoughts on the ultra-right government of Russia?

The EU, i.e. Germany and the US regimes put N@zis in power in order to terrorize the population while the country was looted in the guise of "market democracy". After the coup, the country literally rocketed to the poorest in Europe.

The Russian regime is most certainly left-learning. And I mean really left-wing not the Anglo-American, "I support gay marriage so I'm left-wing" version of "left-wing. Putin made some anti-Bolshevik comments for their creation of the Ukraine but his policies are certainly leftist.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

Ex-Japan PM Mori has been a constant embarrassment in office.

Is it any wonder Mori has established a reputation as Putin, a war criminal, useful fool.

Why, in gods name give Mori, a shameful cowardly appeaser, a platform to assuage the horror of an invader that raped and murdered families children?

1 ( +10 / -9 )

Irrelevant comment from an irrelevant senior citizen.

So the former PM is "irrelevant" as soon as he makes a comment not completely, 100% following the official line of the US regime. These fascists are frightening! It's a perfect reflection on what happened in Germany in the 1930s.

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

NATO and specifically the US and German regimes are 100% to blame for the war.

lol Nope. Russia alone made the decision to invade.

They created the ultra-right coup in the Ukraine

Ultra-right? lolol That's hilarious. Tell me more about this. Hey, any thoughts on the ultra-right government of Russia?

They expanded NATO despite promises to the Russians not to so.

And Russia promised not to invade if Ukraine gave up their nukes. Cry me a river.

Mori should be in jail for his blatant corruption associated with the disgraceful 2021 Tokyo Games. He wasn't held to account presumably due to his senility and illnesses.

Just shut your mouth, embarrassing old fool. Better still - emigrate to Moscow to see who shakes the most - you or your buddy Mini-me.

Former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori criticized

I stopped at that! Ha!

The audacity of this fossilized, bigoted zombie!

0 ( +15 / -15 )

Irrelevant comment from an irrelevant senior citizen. Everyone is entitle to an opinion but some are just wildly inaccurate as Mori shows us here.

3 ( +11 / -8 )

I can’t believe such an idiot is probably the most smartest politician in Japan at this moment.

-12 ( +6 / -18 )

Mori - the joke that keeps on giving.

3 ( +13 / -10 )

Last time I checked, it was Russia that invaded another country.

A person trespassed your home, raped your children and killed your wife. Somehow, Mori believes it should also be your fault.

11 ( +20 / -9 )

The more he talks, the less relevant he becomes. His daft opinions make him regressive and immature.

5 ( +11 / -6 )

Mori is out of his mind. Russia invaded Ukraine without provocation. It is straightforward as that.

3 ( +16 / -13 )

Lots of people want to be ignorant and stick their head into the sand, when they do not want to hear the truth, this is suicidal thoughts

-12 ( +6 / -18 )

Zelinski is defending his country from being invaded, his countrymen murdered and raped and we should criticise him for doing so? This guy needs to retire from public speaking, if Ukraine don’t prevail in this conflict any country in the world could be next for putin..

1 ( +16 / -15 )

Coming from one of the dullest knives in the drawer, it really is just hot air.

2 ( +14 / -12 )

I'm no fan of Zelenskyy, but Mori has never said an intelligent thing in his life and is an embarrassment to the country. Why anyone reports his opinions is beyond me.

-6 ( +7 / -13 )

As Mori's talk is not fully covered above, let me put it FYI:

森元首相「ロシア、核使うかも」

https://www.jiji.com/jc/article?k=2022111801157&g=pol

Mori also noted that it is only Muneo Suzuki who would be able to persuade Putin. Ok then, send him away to Moscow in order to save many ordinary Russians from suffering.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

The former premier also lashed out at Japanese news outlets, saying their "one-sided" reporting on the war in Ukraine gives him the impression they "only rely on reports from Europe and the United States."

Yeah, tell us something we don't know. You certainly aren't gonna hear of Biden building new bases in Syria.

invalid CSRF

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

Senile comment … time to stay home!

1 ( +16 / -15 )

Mori should jump off a high building and prove his disastrous life for once and for all.

-9 ( +7 / -16 )

And how much suffering has he exactly created in his one year of presidency prior to the war Mr Mori? Know what you are talking about before you open your mouth. You're 85 years old, soon be biting the dust, have some manners, dignity, respect and refrain from giving your opinion on every subject.

You and your opinions aren't relevant anymore

-1 ( +11 / -12 )

Criticism from a jackass generally doesn’t carry much weight.

But it sells newspapers.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

"I don't quite understand why only President Putin is criticized while Mr. Zelenskyy isn't taken to task at all. Mr Zelenskyy has made many Ukrainian people suffer,"...

Judging from Mori's dotty words and deeds over decades this latest outburst is par for the course as a character who fits Biden's definition of a "semi"-fascist, and now by his lack of understanding putting Zelenskiy's "crimes" on a level with those of the aggressor, Putin, is Mori finally entering his dotage? He should do us all a favor and retire from public speaking.

6 ( +14 / -8 )

I don't think Mori understand the difference between goals and mistakes. Of course everybody make mistakes, no one is perfect. But Putin's goal of invading another country vs Zelenskyy's goal of defending his home land are poles apart for the morality and humanity of the 21st ccentury.

I would suggest that for a former statesman, Mr Mori exudes immorality and devoid of humanity.

6 ( +19 / -13 )

This was why Mori is no longer in power and increasingly becomes irrelevant. The US will never allow an independent-minded political elite in Japan.

-10 ( +16 / -26 )

I don't quite understand why only President Putin is criticized while Mr. Zelenskyy isn't taken to task at all.

Let me explain it to you dumbass. Putin invaded a sovereign country. Zelenskyy didn't.

Mr Zelenskyy has made many Ukrainian people suffer," Mori told a political gathering in Tokyo.

No he didn't. Putin did

-1 ( +28 / -29 )

The old fool has either lost his marbles or has so little contact with reality as to be dangerous , luckily he is seen for the blithering buffoon that he is and is generally ignored.

Poo tin’s genocidal policies and warped nationalistic philosophy purporting to claim there is neither a Ukrainian state or national identity and his efforts to exterminate it are wholly to blame for the war and suffering it has created.

Mori’s efforts to recover the four occupied islands were as relevant as his view of the russian illegal invasion of Ukraine, sucking up to poo tin failed to achieve anything.

-6 ( +16 / -22 )

Former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori is well known for his occasional gaffs all right, but should his comment on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy be given short shrift as a gaff?

-3 ( +16 / -19 )

So far he's not involved?

https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2022/10/21/national/tokyo-olympics-bribery-scandal-explainer/

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

He’s an idiot and he’s going to be ignored.

An incompetent Buffon who’s tolerated because of his fundraising ability. His “opinion” means nothing.

9 ( +38 / -29 )

Don’t mind, President Zelenskyy.

Former Prime Minister Mori is a disgraced sexist nationalist, who once described Japan as "a divine nation (kami no kuni) with the Emperor at its center.” And his pal Muneo Suzuki is a convicted criminal, whose bribery conviction was unanimously upheld by Japan’s Supreme Court.

Criticism from a jackass generally doesn’t carry much weight.

16 ( +46 / -30 )

Yes,he is right, Zelensky has not accepted any responsibility, but blame others that do not support him, their is no legal or moral obligation, that you have to support anything or anybody, because of their misfortune, Zelensky had no accepted any responsibility, but beg to world to finance his misery

-6 ( +37 / -43 )

He is absolutely right, but many here do not want to understand it..

-1 ( +44 / -45 )

Mori can smell some money somewhere. Suzuki is now full rehabilitated, it looks like. Birds of a feather ...
