Please stay home Ms Truss!

Shouldn't that read "failed UK leader"?

10 ( +19 / -9 )

This is embarrassing, Japan knows far more about the threat of China than Truss ever will. If she has come to listen, rather than to educate, and then go home with a clearer picture of how the UK can help, then that will be much better.

The Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China, an international group of lawmakers concerned about how democratic countries approach Beijing,

Good for her. Doesn't really matter that she flopped at home. It's a good cause. Unless you love the CCP.

Who?

2 ( +12 / -10 )

I once went to a Chinese banquet that lasted longer than Truss's time as PM.

5 ( +15 / -10 )

This incompetent buffoon p!55ed away 55 Billion GBP in six weeks.

Why on earth does she think she's qualified to give advice on anything?

10 ( +19 / -9 )

Right message. Wrong messenger.

My biggest impression of Truss was of a dear in the headlights everytime she gave a presser.

There are developmentally disabled children that look more up to it than she did.

Ok Karen, btw you are a failure, you have nothing to offer.

-5 ( +9 / -14 )

Take zero notice of anyone who couldn't outlast a lettuce at holding a job.

-4 ( +10 / -14 )

I think it is wonderful that someone cares so much about global security that they would give up their time, fly half way around the world, pay for their own transport and accommodation all for free.

Never happen though!

don't know anything about Mr. Verhofstadt, but..... the other two? dear oh dear. proof if we needed it, that once aboard the gravy train, you're laughing. don't even need to be good at your job. or honest....

Liz Truss? Well, that just shows how important this meeting is!

But Morrison, China is one of your country’s biggest trading partners and buys large amounts of Australian coal and iron ore. How could you be such an ingrate?

But Morrison, China is one of your country’s biggest trading partners and buys large amounts of Australian coal and iron ore. How could you be such an ingrate?

For a start your looking at it all wrong. China gets the best coal and iron ore from Australia who supplies the best on offer and is a very reliable supplier. It is not doing it to "help Australia", it does it to help China. Nobody else can supply the volume of Iron ore Australia does, they really have no other choice.

China should be grateful that Australia is willing to supply resources to a belligerent hostile nation that tries at every turn to badger Australia and complain about its security alliance with the US. They know if hostilities ever break out between the US and China that all the many resources China gets from Australia would stop immediately. Leaving China unable to feed its factories and power stations with all it needs to continue as normal, let alone during war time when resource supply is much more critical.

Given how disastrous she was, you have to wonder who is downvoting comments that mock Liz Truss.

She must have bought a bot farm with her payout.

Comedy's Liz Truss is coming to Tokyo! Where can we buy tickets?

6 ( +10 / -4 )

Truss and Morrison- who is going to listen to them with their track records?

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Why is Mis Trust even coming to Japan when she isn't even a member of the government?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

45 days.....

That is barely 4 Scaramouchi's......

And unlike your American regime, the UK can't just print as much money as they want just to make up for the billions she lost due to her stupidity.

By the way, does she now know the difference between the Black and Baltic Seas?

-7 ( +3 / -10 )

She was in office for the shortage time in history. Rishi Sunak does not think much of the summit then.

when photo says it all... :)

Truss is an embarrassment. Australia is well shot of Morrison. China is working on being the 21st century hegemon on the global stage.

That said, the number of misogynistic comments on here today is kind of disgusting. You can criticise someone and all they stand for without stooping so low.

Thankfully no sane person would listen to a massive failure like her.

Meanwhile, ultraconservative LDP goons...

NO THANK YOU mam, the UK still recovering from her mess.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Total maniac that tanked an already failing UK economy. Utter retard

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Truss, sweetie. Your only legacy is lasting 49 pitiful days in office as UK's PM. Your words hold no weight. Please vacate the premises and let the adults do the talking.

Regardless of the topic, it’s hard to think of a single person whose opinion I would value less.

Only thing Putin and Xi know is lots of these European leaders are running these days are their mouth, only thing they care about is what coming out of Washington, even Biden offered a side deal for Putin to stay in Ukraine, land that he captured for a peace deal

That. Is. A. Dis. Grace.

Truss in Tokyo? Yen's going down.

As foreign secretary she was outspoken in criticizing China, advocating stronger ties between democracies so they can counter China and Russia more effectively. She had suggested that the U.K. should work with its allies to ensure Taiwan could defend itself against Chinese military aggression.

Her successor, current British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, has rejected “grand rhetoric” against China and wants a more “pragmatic” relationship with Beijing. While he has called China's growing authoritarianism a “systemic challenge," he stopped short of describing China as a threat to British security and said the U.K. and its allies needed to engage Beijing in diplomacy.

Failure or not, I guess she has bigger b**ls than Rishi in calling out the communist dictatorship.

The British leaders with their dying mockery of empire look so pathetic trying to attack China with their rhetoric of hatred, impotence and envy..

By the way, this lady is very funny, she's like the female version of Boris clown...

lol..

The British leaders with their dying mockery of empire look so pathetic trying to attack China with their rhetoric of hatred, impotence and envy..

As the article states, the British leader has rejected grand rhetoric regarding China. Truss is not a leader, and Britain has not had an empire for nearly 100 years.

100% China (CCP) is a danger and countries around the world have to share info on China’s tactics.

Why invest in a Chinese totalitarian state when that investment could be made at home?

Any EU delegation should not need to visit China

In defense of Liz Truss…

In the UK Liz Truss had a plan for growth.

Cut taxes and invest more.

What was wrong with that?

Under Sunak how are things?

The UK is wallowing at the bottom of the G7 heap and prices are still rising.

Striking public workers all over the place

Why?

Because they can’t afford to live

Her plan was to increase oil supply in the North Sea and invest more in renewable and alternative energy

Theres plenty of room for growth in the UK;it should be happening!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The UK has become the laughing stock of the World - this is somewhat embarrassing - even with Sunak "in Power" he's got numerous issues ... including the new one posed by the BBC with their investigation upon the Indian PM - Modi... conflict of interest issues now at play here for the UK PM.... I wonder why People didn't see this coming !!!!!

The CCP is a real and present Danger for all.

The recent "Weather" Balloon issue being a good example - most Countries would inform others, when their Balloons go over those neighboring airspaces - any airborne device poses a risk to at least Civilian transportation - even if it is purportedly at a fixed altitude above normal routes. The CCP has a complete disregard for anything other than their own selves.

If only because of what shameful things rogue China did to Hong Kong.
